I usually throw half a beer into my chili pot, am I bad guy for drinking the rest of the beer at 7:30a?

The judgement starts when you crack the second and third.

only if you drink out of the bottle first then put it in the chili. sometimes I tell my wife the recipe takes 2 beers and then drink the other 1.5. remember you can't drink all day unless you start in the morning.

This beer you're talking about - 12 oz. bottle or half-barrel?

If you're just drinking half a bottle, you're good.

It's great.  Best fast food chicken I have ever had.  They serve this amazing Texas toast with it.

Have you had Gus's? It a bit less fast food style but the best chain I've had by far

The best fast food chicken has to be Los Pollos Hermanos.  8-)

Sammy's is still around, he's now located on Hwy. 100 just north of Greenfield but now he specializes in red hots not subs.

When I worked at Suburpia in the Falls we used to trade employee meals with employees at Arthur Treachers and Taco Bell. Everyone got discounted meals and got tired of the same thing.

Back in the day, we had a similar arrangement among Rocky Rococo's, KFC, a "BW3" style wing place, and Fazoli's.  Essentially, we all had RTE food under a warmer that would have to be pulled after 20-30 minutes, so instead of tossing it, we traded it.

Oh, to have that kind of intestinal flora again....

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

A 2015 study from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration reported that food service employees had the highest rates of illicit drug use compared to 18 other occupations.

Now you know why Arby's is so Arby's.

That arrangement probably explains why you don't still have that kid of intestinal flora....

One is "website moderator".

What happens to these studies when illicit becomes licit?

So on the same page, we get separate mentions of Los Pollos Hermanos and illicit drug use.

Coincidence? I think not.

I loved Rocky Rococo's pizza.  It was expensive, so a rare treat.  Giulianos and Pizza Shuttle were more the norm.

Rocky's is doughy garbage.

Had zaffiros on Saturday, still the best pizza in Milwaukee.

Doughy garbage with ketchup for sauce. I liked Rocky's as a kid, but going back and having it as an adult is a mistake. It's terrible. I would say it's the worst commercially available pizza I've had in at least 20 years.

Agreed. Thing is, there was such a huge gap for me that I don't know if the change was in the pizza or my taste buds.

Well, I haven't had it in probably 30 years, so it's quite possible that I wouldn't like it any more either.  No way to know without trying.  And I can assure you that if I get back to Milwaukee, RR will be pretty low on my list of places I'd stop to eat.

I also loved the pizza at Balistreri's, which couldn't have been farther from what they served at RR.  If that's still open, it's something that I would consider going to if in Milwaukee because you can't get pizza like that around here (unlike doughy garbage, which is readily available).

Zaffiros is good if you want that saltine crust, Marco's sauce can't be beat

A couple of years ago I tried Transfer Pizza on 1st and Mitchell, and it was pretty good.

Take it from someone who made the mistake. Hold on to the good Rocky memories of your youth and don't subject your taste buds to the terrible crap that it truly is. You get the best of both worlds, fond memories and good pizza.

I had Rocky's last week for the first time in 20 years.  The kids had a function and it was great from a memories perspective.  They wanted to go back and I said "no."   Maybe in a few years . . .
