Man, people can be negative sometimes.  Just let people be proud of their accomplishments.

But I thought that was everything wrong with millennials?

My least favorite "candy" has always been black licorice. How can they even treat that vile stuff as candy?
My theory is that the only people who like black licorice/jellybeans are the youngest siblings.  Essentially it was learn to like black licorice/jellybeans or get no licorice/jellybeans.  Therefore, I actually like black licorice.

I actually like black jellybeans.  My brothers and sisters hated them so much they would give me theirs out of their Easter baskets and didn't even make me trade.
Have some patience, FFS.

Yeah, I especially love the Finland (Panda Brand) Licorice.  But then again I eat One Pomegranate (In season) a day which takes about a hour to finish. Weird.

Consider me a data point that is inconsistent with your stated theory.

Best jellybean ever.  Especially because you can enjoy eating them just as much as you can enjoy using them to torture your siblings... like sneaking one into a chocolate chip cookie, or dropping one in their chocolate milk, etc.

I really don't understand the candy corn hate.  It tastes like sugar.   And for today's lesson, it's made of:  sugar, corn syrup, confectioner's glaze, salt, dextrose, gelatin, sesame oil and honey.

I mean, I'd choose a Milky Way before it, but it's not candy corn tastes like olives or something.

People are just trying to jump on a bandwagon of hate. I've always enjoyed candy corn. It's not great, but I've had far worse candy.

Which is worse, candy corn or whatever that stuff in the black & orange wrappers are?

Black & orange wrappers gets my vote.

People that give those out at halloween should be tar and feathered.  Or banned from Arby's for life.

I didn't bite anything - I ignored most of your post because it was irrelevant to the "pedestrian" comment.

Look up the definition of pedestrian. Benny made a funny.

There's definitely some truth to that, but when you get right down to it, most candy is just a sugar delivery mechanism.  The problem is probably with texture and relative lack of identifiable flavor.  The sugar candies (i.e., excluding chocolates) are primarily three textures:  chewy (caramels, taffy, jelly beans, gummies, etc.); powders/compressed powders (sweet tarts, nerds, smartees, pixy stix, etc.) and hard (lollipops, jolly ranchers, etc.).  Candy Corn just doesn't fit into any of the categories.  It's kind of a weird waxy texture.  And, more than most candies, the flavor is just really plain sugar.  I knew that there must be some flavor in there, and when I saw your list of ingredients, it made sense that it is honey.  But basically, candy corn just seems to me like strangely textured sugar.  Not a fan...but willing to admit that much of the hate is just because hating on candy corn is a Halloween tradition.

It may seem like a contradiction, but I appear to be in the minority and I like Bit-o-Honey.  It's also honey flavored, but with a nut flavor mixed in, and it is a chewy texture.

And, what do you have against olives?

Milky Way (especially frozen) are awesome.

Candy corn is fine (at least for Halloween).

Bit-o-honey is terrible.

Olives are something parents force children to eat.

Happy national candy corn day, topper.

(FYI, tomorrow is national dress like a slutty profession day.)

Only black olives are disgusting flavorless wastes of space.  I'm on board with all other olives as a delicious snack.

On the opposite (and correct) side, my wife and I just discussed identifying and removing black olives from all future pizza orders so that we don't have to deal with them.
