What's the worse car sticker: "26.2" or "0.0"?

0.0

The whole 26.2 thing is kind of obnoxious, but at least it signifies an impressive accomplishment. 0.0 is obnoxious and says "look at me, I didn't do anything."

It would be worthwhile as either a Nihilistic credo or the grandfather of the parent whose "kid beat up your Honors student", but it is pretty much just saying....

RUNNING SUCKS
Zenyatta has a lot....a lot... of ground to make up. She gets there from here she'd be a super horse......what's this.....Zenyatta hooked to the grandstand side....Zenyatta flying on the outside....this....is...un-belieeeeeevable!...looked impossible at the top of the stretch...

70.3 is pretty cool. 0.0 means you have a good sense of humor.

13.1 is the worst.

Heard a solid joke about these stickers at open mic night at a bar a few years back.

"Having a sticker that brags about how far you can run in a country with an obesity epidemic is like me going to a Third World country with a sticker that brags about how many calories I eat a day."

In what I'm sure is unrelated,  that was the last open mic night because the bar closed down a week later.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Let's be real though.

The only acceptable car stickers say "Marquette University," "Marquette Basketball," or "ND Sucks."

Unlike being born into a place where there is not enough food for everyone, the decision to train for and complete a long race is a choice.
Have some patience, FFS.

0.0 was funny when they first came out.

Now, not so much.

Fair enough. I'll admit I laughed the first time I saw one. Now I see more of them than the 26.2 stickers.

26.2 is more pedestrian than impressive as an accomplishment.  Impressive is someone who can breastfeed their kid and still finish under 4 hours.  Impressive is someone a couple months removed from chemo winning a triathlon.  Impressive is someone who's never trained for a marathon finishing in the top half of all entrants.

Who said "everyone gets a trophy" is just for kids?

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Just curious - have you ever finished a marathon (under the cutoff time)?

I don't understand the 13.1. You're celebrating being weak is the idea??

The condition of my C4-C5 essentially precludes me from any sustained high-impact activity.  But even if I overcame that and finished one under the cutoff at great risk to both physical and marital health, it still wouldn't be an impressive accomplishment, it'd just be another stupid accomplishment to add to an already comical list.

I can't think of anywhere in the realm of athletics where "personal best" is more ubiquitous than in distance running.  It's great to have (and beat) your own goals, and the feeling that you're accomplishing something can be great for the mind and the body.  But if you have to slap a sticker on your car to feel said sense of self-accomplishment, then you really didn't accomplish anything at all.

I took up running after more competitive sports (baseball, then softball, basketball, flag football) were in my rear view mirror. Ran my first 5k at 52, first marathon at 54 and qualified for Boston at 60 - all fun stuff for an aging "athlete" but I never got into the cult that surrounds running. To each his own, but for me a 26.0 sticker on a car is kind of sad.

I did run a half marathon once.  Hated the training so I doubt I will ever try for the full.  Never got the sticker though.
