Grilled Cheese with syrup is french toasty.   --  I like real maple syrup, but it's so damn expensive .. Kirkland brand is pretty good and cheap.

https://www.consumerreports.org/maple-syrup/5-things-you-need-to-know-about-maple-syrup/

Question .. does everyone store their syrup in the fridge?  I hadn't until I saw on the Kirkland bottle that you are supposed to.  That's kinda annoying.

I use the Kirkland and yes, I store it in the fridge. Good stuff.

And speaking of Kirkland - I've had some "store brand" products over the years that are awful, and some that are as good as big-name products. So what are people's favorite "store brands?" Mine is Kirkland.

Dr Blackheart and Freeway both shop at Aldi together.

Kirkland's booze is great.

Target's private label food (Market Pantry) is excellent as well.
Have some patience, FFS.

Aldi's = Trader Joe's but with the pallets...plus we can take the carts home with us.

Public Service Announcement:

This product:

Is probably a hoax:

I say probably because someone really should test them out.   Any Scooper with a green thumb and $2.29 to burn?

BeeJay and Ziggy are into vegetable medleys so I think we have our Scoop test case.

25 cents to buy a cart is a bargain.

There is a historical family link between ALDI and Trader Joe's.
Family business in Germany was split into two companies by brothers who disagreed about selling cigarettes.

WIKI  Aldi for some interesting reading

One of the largest privately owned companies in the world.  The rest of the world Aldi owns Trader Joe's.

If you were truly a lover of bacon, you would be advocating people to eat less so there is more for you.

Yes, decent drunk food, great fried pickles wayyyy overrated though as the cheese is usually solid by the time it arrives at the table. Heard the food truck is legit though.

For years we fried up bacon every Sunday until we tried baking it.  That's soooo much easier.

The odd thing, though, is even if we buy the same brand (SKU) and cook it at the same temp, same amount of time .. every batch's taste and done-ness is wildly random.  Sometimes it'l be burnt at 14 minutes, sometimes it'll need another 4-5 minutes.

What the heck, pigs?

This is absolutely true.  Game changer.
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

Recently tried lamb bacon and it was incredible. Any of you tried that?

I have not.  I have had venison bacon, which is outstanding.
