Was just on Facebook and a friend was talking about working on the latest Arby's ad... should have known. It's a Minneapolis ad agency and a bunch of other Minneapolis groups that do these Arby's ads... Minnesota comes through again!

https://www.adweek.com/agencies/h-jon-benjamin-is-back-for-arbys-where-all-hell-breaks-loose-in-the-kitchen/?fbclid=IwAR3zHrPmBzU2zWFlF0E6Gw3UARRj0mTnBlSmDimFboLk3Xg3KeJrP_QWTBY

just saw this recently-minnesota voted to have the nicest people?  ever go to a vikings-packers game at lambeau?  i think da bears people are more civil, but that's just an observance of one aspect i guess.  but otherwise- why, of all places, minnesota?  no disrespect intended, just wondering...

and don't tell me it's because they got the (processed) meats ;)

Lotsa great people here in Minnesota, and lotsa not so nice people...kinda like most places.

Ranking the states 1-50 is just a way to get clicks.

Minnesota would definitely be a runaway #1 in that ranking.

Ohhhhh... you said clicks.  At first glance, I only saw five letters there.

No worries. I mentally filter out superfluous things like extra letters, Red Delicious (sic) apples, and ND alums.

So we were discussing celebrity encounters at work today, and I told the story of the time when, as a kid growing up in Nashville,  Minnie Pearl came up to my family in the grocery store and told my parents what beautiful children they had.

No one in the rest of the group, who were all under 40, knew who she was. Not even after I pulled up a picture of her on my phone.

These youngsters today.....

In Kroger, she was wearing lovely pink slacks and a matching top. No hat.

I was going to put this in the grievance thread, but the inevitable happened.

I have a grievance to present before scoop. Today I watched Texas State try to keep up with the Fighting Texas Aggies. Sitting in the row in front of me was a group of 5 students that had somehow gotten loose from the student section. About halfway through the first quarter, my wife leans over and in a judging whisper says "these kids have done nothing but take pictures of themselves the whole game."

I started paying attention after that and it became a game for my wife and I (something had to keep us entertained, Texas State got 1 first down in the first half). They took group selfies 37 times by the time they left (right after the halftime show). Now I could understand if they were doing it from different angles or different poses or had the field in the background....but all 37 were the exact same picture from what we could tell. The same person held up their phone from the same angle and they all did the stupid duckface pose (that's a whole separate grievance) with nothing in the background besides the seats they were sitting on.

Maybe they were doing different filters or something, but how do you need the same posed picture 37 times? What possible worth does that bring?

I guess it's time for me to don a sweater vest and start talking about how much better the student section was when I was an undergrad.
