Less than 0 unless he's hurt. Kids who are productive, albeit on the learning curve as freshmen don't just volunteer to sit out a year.

Normally I'd agree with you (which is why I put a qualifier to the question in the last sentence), but this might be a situation where I think Wojo could make a pretty good pitch to Theo.  From reports, he sounds like a gym rat who could be convinced that if he spent a year really focusing on developing new aspects to his game, he could go from being a good player to a dominant one, and potentially a guy that could make his way to the NBA if he works hard at it.

For him, the alternative to next year's logjam might be transferring to a program where more minutes would be available, which would mean taking a year off anyway.  If he believes in Wojo and MU, why not do that here?

I'm not saying it is likely, but this is a rare case where it might make sense for a guy like him to take a year off--it may not be something he'd just volunteer for, but I think Wojo can make a compelling case it would be in his best interest long term.

If he is third fiddle, he might as well sit-out.  Eke can be a back center as well.  I think it would be smart for him.   Heldt would be gone and Froling would be a senior.
Give him 2 years of possibly starting.

1) Howard, Elliott
2) Cain, Anim, Sam
3) Sam, Bailey, Joey
4) Morrow, Joey, Froiling
5) heldt, John, Froiling, Eke

Just imagine if we could get a legit grad transfer PG.  Man oh man.

The depth is going to be awesome.  Having Heldt be a 10-12 minute backup C will be great - he is perfect for that role.  We haven't had this type of front court depth in over a decade.

Having a legit power forward in the mold of Hayward and Crowder is what I'm most excited for
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

In the 30+ years I have been a Marquette fan, we haven't had that type of front court depth.

If you're referring to Morrow, Hayward and Crowder aren't great comps.  Both of these guys were stretch 4s that shot the three alot, and well.  Morrow did not attempt a single three-pointer in his 2 seasons at Nebraska.

But he is a legit 4.  So excited for him.  He is going to completely change the complexion of this team.

Fair.  My in depth Marquette knowledge begins with the 08-09 season.  Anything prior to that I don't have first hand knowledge of, just what I've read, so not qualified to comment.  But don't doubt it.

Is Jeff Adrien from those good UCONN teams a decent comp?

I look forward to him rebounding all (5) of Howard's missed 3s and dishing back to him to atone for his mistakes.

Just meant having a legit banger for a PF again. Don't expect trailer threes to be raining from morrow

I have seen Froling play, not sure what he brings to the table as the offense right now does not run thru the center.  If Wojo uses Froling like the other 2 centers, then
basically MU has another 5 fouls.  I will have a different opinion once I see how Wojo uses him.  I do think you might see him play along side the other centers, time will tell.

Ummm....

There is a reason the current offense does not run thru the center. :-[

Sammy had some pretty ones too. Obviously his game is more faceted than that, but still a thing of beauty.

Can't wait until these 2 cupcake games to get Froling worked into the offense and ready for BE play
I think Harry is going to do well in the cupcake gains and hopefully he can build on that going into Big East season.

That would be something if they could surpass the 93-94 team's frontcourt depth!  It had two future NBA players coming off the bench.

Any potential recruits in the Green Bay area?  Wojo was apparently there yesterday.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
