And now we know what Jamal meant with his quote about the coaching staff's honesty in the article that was shared here...

Any chance we might take a look at this kid or does anyone have any info on him? Maybe someone to look at if Elliott does not come here.

Only one senior next year,we need to recruit a decent point guard with this class, the team will
be very young next year. I wonder what Wojos thinking now with all the changes to the team.

Not relating this to Duane, but I do wonder if Stan is familiar with Brown. Seems an ideal fit with JJ and Reinhardt leaving.

It's funny you ask that...Elijah was recruited by Stan/AZ St before committing to Butler.  ;)

But, would the BE allow a secondary transfer within the conference?

Don't see why not. Hasn't played at Butler for three years.

This is from before the C7 split but I believe the rules haven't changed. As long as the player has spend a year in residency at a school in another conference, they are free to transfer back to the Big East.

That's not what it says.  The year of residency line is about non-revenue sports.

The important detail will be how "indirect" transfers are defined.

And this could all mean nothing if Brown doesn't want to come to MU

Was also a 6'3" guard starting high school before a growth spurt. I'm a fan of bigs with guard skills.

Yep. I read that completely wrong.

Indirect transfer is defined in Special Note #4. The rules apply to anyone who has ever enrolled at a Big East institution, including 4-2-4 (BE, JUCO, BE) and 4-4-4 (BE-Non BE-BE). So it would seem that Brown cannot transfer back to the Big East.

Definitely intriguing. But I'm worried about him being from Philly. That place is like Chicago, if you don't play the game, you don't get the recruit. My guess is that we might be back in the doghouse because TC left.

Based on comments from Delgreco Wilson after TC left, I think we're okay there.

Brown would be an interesting case. May have signed with Butler in the A10. Did he take summer classes before his first season? If so, he may also have enrolled in the A10. But no question, he played in the Big East.

GoldenDieners32

Clifton Moore would be a really interesting player, hope we can land him. Also are we sure Brown cannot transfer here?

onepost

Spike Albrecht transferred straight from Michigan to Purdue. I'm sure he signed some special waiver but I don't think Brown spending less than a year at Butler could keep him from coming back to the Big East.

The Big East and Big Ten have different rules.  Look, it *might* happen if there is a waiver process of some sort.  (And assuming he wants to come here.)

Does the B10 allow in-conference transfers?

Only if you're not transferring from Wisconsin.

Which is false since the kid from Iowa transferred from UW back there (after much embarrassment).

Actually Brown MAY be able to transfer to MU. There is nothing in those rules that talks specifically about grad transfers. A one year player may be different. And as Brew noted..it's possible Brown committed to Butler when they were still tachnically an A-10 school. However he did play in the Big East.

He will definitely be an interesting case to watch.
