So #9 player in the country? Thought it was agreed we should not recruit any top 25 player? Henry all over....

What is strange is why MU is going after a kid in the south?  Is Wojo wasting his time or is there a connection somewhere for Wojo to get involved?

We had Ahmed Hill, also from Georgia, for a while.  Then there was Jae.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Lots of talent in Georgia and the home state schools aren't powerhouses so it is a good place to build relationships and attempt to steal a good player or 2.

This also happened today.....2019 stud point guard

First reaction, I don't want to wait until 2019 to sign Markus' heir.

Second reaction, kid is pretty damn good. Might be ok with it.

I don't think geography is that big of a detriment. However, it does seem a little late for a program like ours to get in on a kid this talented without some sort of connection. Usually to have a shot at a kid this high you either need to be a blue blood or start recruiting him very early*

This is based on my expert amateur opinion, not on actual fact

Wojo flew to TX and visited with Jaedon LeDee (2018, F). Stan Johnson has previously flown out to visit LeDee.

LeDee holds offers from Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky, and UCLA.

He's from the south and southern schools have offered him.  That isn't all that strange.

Got it.  Yeah, I have no concern with the locations.  Anyone that has been to Oklahoma, LSU and Maryland can tell you these locations have nothing in common at all.

Also, what MU has as an advantage as it is distinctly "away from home," which is something that a lot of students are looking for.

WarriorPride68

Wojo also checked out Grimes today:

And a tweet from Mark Miller said Sam Hauser & markus Howard are at Joeys SPASH game tonight

Wojo is from the South.  Hardly strange.

Joey needs a little help

Middleton 39, Stevens Point 23 with 2:20 left in first half. Joey Hauser with 18.

Well then you make this transition perfectly...Sign Tyger for 2019, and to bridge that gap and open the new arena you bring in...

Point got nailed. Middleton had 13 3's. Joey had 28.

I really hope we can land Greg Elliot. Also for 2018 class we should try and recruit Jarvis Thomas or Race Thompson harder they are great players. It would be nice if we could steal either Tyger or Jaedeon. All great players wojo is recruiting hopefully he can put the team together

Haanif is from Florida.
Markus is from Arizona.
Rowsey is from Virginia via North Carolina.
Frolling is from Australia via Texas

No reason not to offer him.  Just hope that they cut the cord when it becomes obvious he isn't coming here.

Guess we'll just have to install a beach in the Al then.

New article on Elliott. Nothing on his upcoming visit here... maybe it's not official? Not sure how much the MSU writer is just guessing at things vs what Elliott is telling him. Sounds like he wants to take all of his visits. Definitely a Michigan guy though, so maybe the thought of going to MSU is sickening. Seems like Michigan is waiting on some other pieces to drop and he's not a priority at this point.

Yeah I don't have the impression that he is sickened by the thought of going to MSU.  I think this is going to be extremely difficult with really the only hope is Wojo convincing him that he would excel in his role here and that his friend Jamal Cain will be here as well.  As I see it, there will be plenty of opportunity for him to prove himself as early as next year, but for sure in 2018-19.

The real question is what is Wojo's opinion on Waffle House - that is more important than birthplace/workplace.

Honestly it will probably come down to if Izzos "offer" ever becomes solid.

Since he is coming this weekend, the crowd should be great, lots of hoopla going on, a victory would be nice.  Being involved with X players,  seeing the new arena
being built.   Has a lot to sell.

By X players do you mean ex players?
I don't want him involved with X players--especially in Milwaukee.
