New Jamal Cain highlights

Definitely brings some Athleticism to MU, the whole highlight reel is on the Offensive end,  he will fit right in on the offensive end.  Complete game there.  A little skinny
right now, much like JJJ looked in high school.  Needs to add 20 pounds or more to that frame.   Can he play D is the question?  As most freshman, I doubt it.  He will
get his opportunity, might be better off as a 2 guard until his frame fills out.

Seems like he has a better stroke than freshman/sophomore JJJ, but that twist in his body brings back bad memories.  Doesn't seem to bring the ball across his body like JJJ did which I think was a large part of his issue.  Shot 37% in eybl on 59 attempts from deep.  He will need to be a 3pt threat to get big minutes, especially if we are going to play more size at the 4/5.

"the calvary is coming" is just filler language for an announcer whose job it is to speak on air. There is no calvary coming. There is only hope for the future; no answers.

DePaul loses Billy Garrett, I have always liked him, to bad he has sickle cell, hope him the best.  Yesterday when he backed Howard down for an easy shot, reminded
me of the old days, like Oscar.  Not to many guards do that anymore.  To bad he went to DePaul.  They are bringing in the point guard from Findley Prep, must have
played with Howard or watched Howard from the bench.  5'11" guard,  will not be the next coming of Billy Garrett.  They will be 10th again next year. Maybe the new
arena will get some Chicago kids interested in playing there again, hope so.  If DePaul improved, the whole conference will improve.  Much like St. Johns,  big markets
are important to the Big East.

I was really looking at JJJ athletisicm vs. Cain.  As a basketball player, JJJ had the worst form I had ever seen.  In that video I would say as baller, he is much more
advanced then JJJ.  But both can jump out of the gym, that is for sure.  Being 6'8" will make a difference as well.

Garrett is good but he is a punk n was really PO ing me yesterday.  He came in and threw his head back twice on non contact plays. Coaches need to be demonstative about that n players need to give it right back to him n refs should call it both ways.  A couple times garrett shoved guys with his arm bar with no call n then threw his head back if anyone came near him.  Refs cannot give it to him both ways

Little bit of a twist.  But I think back to the JjJ nightmare and it's night and day.  Kudos to Jujuan for working so hard to remake his shot.  He's a respectable shooter now.  That didn't come easy.

I think we can stand to be a little more patient with Jamal than we were with JJJ too.  As a freshman, JJJ had to scrap for minutes on a team with a one-foot-out-the-door coach and a disappointing crop of upper-classmen.  He didn't have a player like Vander in front of him to hide his flaws while he developed.  That was even more true in JJJ's sophomore year where there was very little talent and JJJ was relied on heavily.  We've become more patient with JJJ in year three and four as other talented players have surrounded him.

Jamal will walk into a situation where a) expectations aren't unrealistically high and b) there will be players ahead of him on the depth chart.  If he struggles shooting, Jamal can work it out in practice away from the fans eyes, while Haanif, Sam, and Duane take the lion's share of the game minutes.  Once he works out the shot, he'll be deadly as a soph, junior, and senior.

You haven't watched UCLA play this year if JJJ's freshman year shot is the ugliest shot you've ever seen.

6'7 and 171 lbs?!    Mr. Cain, eat a sandwich and find a weight room.

I remember when scouts were freaking out because Kevin Durant was the first player ever to be unable bench press 185 lbs. even once. And then the Blazers took Greg Oden over him. DOH!

Well, we know what happened with Oden. Whatever happened with that Durant dude?
