Isn't Tillman more of a PF type than a post player?  I thought John had more of a post type game.

While I can't say that I've watched anything besides some highlight videos, it'd be hard to imagine someone 6'8" 270 isn't spending most of his time in the post.

In the article about his MSU visit, there were mentions of Izzo complimenting his footwork in the post and that he'd be one of their post players. From reading, it sounds like his offensive game would stretch a little further out than Eke and John. I don't think he'd be considered a Stretch 4 though based on what I've read.

It's his Jr year highlight tape.  Don't recall seeing him take a jumper.  He does have really good footwork, but this is all I've seen of Tillman that gives you more than just breakaway highlights.

I have seen him take a jumper in a game.   In the game I watched, he worked a lot at the elbow and facilitated a lot of offense for his teammates off passes there and then passing out.    I saw him take 15 ft jumpers, both in warmups and in a game.    Good form, so-so results.   I saw him dribble to the basket from the elbow and finish.   I saw him mix it up down low against skinny 6'5 guys.   It reminded me of a young, beefier, Chris Weber.   I would love him at MU.

MSU insiders were positive that Tillman would commit on his visit. They couldn't imagine why he would keep his official to Marquette after seeing MSU. Wonder if they are getting nervous now?

Tillman reminds me of a modern day Jay Vincent. Vincent won the big ten scoring championship two years in a row for Michigan State, and was the same inside presence with great hands and footwork, similar body type. Thick but not fat.  Vincent went on to a successful NBA career.
