Since Thon Maker got drafted by the Bucks do you think Marquette will offer his brother who is apart of the 2017 class his name is Matur Maker.

He was a target of Arizona State. Not sure when, but entirely possible Stan is at least familiar with the family.

I thought I remember our name being mentioned with him. Could be wrong though.

Matur was very good at the NBPA Top 100 Camp last week.

Played on a team with fellow MU-targets 2018 Tyler Herro and 2019 Matthew Hurt.

Matur: 118 ORtg, 24% usage
Herro: 86, 21%
Hurt: 129, 13%

Wish the NCAA would go back to freshman teams.  I remember watching Dean the Dream play Notre Dame's Austin Carr.  Great competition.  And kids would play longer for their college teams and it was easier for the coaches to manage the playing time per player.

yes it was good basketball, but these kids are coming out of high school ready to rock the big show, not some glorified pick-up games.  some of these guys feel like they are spinning their wheels even going to college.  if div I went back to freshman ball, you would see BIG resurgence of junior college ball and then see ya in the NBA

We need to move him toward the top of our target list.

I don't know anything about White - didn't watch a single Nebraska game last year.

Listed as a guard on ESPN but also listed at 6'7", 220 and pulled down 6 boards a game.  For anyone familiar could he play the 4 in a small lineup?  Shot 41% from 3 so offensively he seems like he is a perimeter guy (which is fine).

Defensive rebounding is ON POINT!

Disgraceful!  How DARE you suggest he would be a good fit without knowing exactly what wojo wants!

Sultan, how can you stand for this?

I'd take Andrew White in a heartbeat. Definitely would fill the need for rebounding. It's sort of silly to think about us in terms of Kentucky, but rotation wise, I could see two effective "teams".

PG1 Traci Carter
SG1 Jajuan Johnson
SF1 Katin Reinhardt
PF1 Andrew White
C1 Luke Fischer

PG2 Andrew Rowsey
SG2 Markus Howard
SF2 Haanif Cheatham
PF2 Sandy Cohen
C2 Matt Heldt

Use Duane as a super sub that can boost both squads, have Hauser and Anim to develop off the bench. That's a ton of long range shooting.

That said, no idea if he'd even consider us on a team that will already be a dogfight for minutes.

Edit: Reading a bit more (just saw this story today) I wonder if White would fit. Would have to buy the team concept and guessing he'll want to be the featured guy getting 30+ mpg. If he thinks he can be Henry, maybe, but if he's expected to share the spotlight...

Any starting lineup that does not include Cheatham is an indication that the poster does not understand Wojo.

Anyone who thinks any player has a guaranteed starting spot does not understand Wojo.

Also anyone who thinks starting lineups matter at all doesn't understand college basketball. Doesn't matter who starts the game, it's who finishes it

Would switch Rowsey and Carter personally. Balance the height of shooters.

White would be the best player on our team and the only one at his position. I think he would star for us. Best place for a potential NBA guy is a tourney bound team where you are still the star. We would be that with him on the roster.

That being said, I have no idea if he or Wojo is interested

Maybe it's due to me not understanding college basketball at all, but I've heard this many times over the years and I don't get it.  Of course it matters!

Who finishes the game doesn't matter if it's not a game...

I wonder what the origins of the old, "it doesn't matter who starts" is... it makes sense that it's repeated a lot - represents a method for a coach to try to not have upset players if they aren't in the starting lineup.

IMO, starting lineups are extremely important.
