Kind of got lost in this thread between nostalgia and random suggestions.... Is the current situation right now consisting of no desirable grad transfers available and that we are keeping the schollie open in case a late normal transfer happens later on in the year?

I think Wojo and staff value a 2017 or mid-season transfer of worth over the current transfers and prospects.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

To Recap:

Isaiah Kelly on campus today (2018 SF, 3-4 Star depending on the service).

Jordan Nwora (2017, Vermont Academy 6'8" SF) visiting Northwestern today and Marquette on Thursday.

Marquette reached out today to 2018 SF (6'7") Jaedon LeDee today (33 on 247).

2018 Top 100 PF Race Thompson has a Marquette offer.

Lets get in the Race.  It is obvious it for 2017 MU does not want to get caught short upfront with lots of kids visiting, I like that.  First come, first serve.  Sign up
the next recruit, then you have the opportunity to be more selective.  To bad, Howard is not on campus.  Looks like he has a lot of personality and charisma.  Hope
Carter can be the man!

We are keeping the schollie open because Wojo doesn't believe in giving scholarships to players he doesn't expect to contribute just to please fans who think that all 13 scholarships must be filled at al times.

Getting a late summer transfer or a midseason transfer would qualify as a genuine pleasant surprise.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

We had interest in this big before...

Daniel Mading and Arizona State are parting ways, he told SNY.tv on Wednesday evening.

The No. 8 center in the Class of 2017 according to 247Sports.com and the cousin of heralded big man Thon Maker, Mading committed to Arizona State and head coach Bobby Hurley back in December. Mading spent last season at St. Anthony's under Naismith Hall of Fame coach Bob Hurley Sr.
A native of the Sudan who grew up in Australia, as did Maker, Mading was also being courted by Wake Forest, Missouri, Marquette and LSU at the time of his commitment.

Videos like this make every player look great, and he did.  Traci Carter better watch out as this kid can shoot.  Looks like he will be fun to watch.  I have to believe if you
send this video to the potential recruits they will be intrigued to play with a good point,  much less another player on the US17 shows interest in MU.

I agree that he looks very good off ball. That said, Markus made it pretty clear in his interviews that the coaching staff wants him on ball a lot more than he was in High School.

Ahh, the kid fouled him.

If he were smart,  he would market it as jumping over six kids so he could teabag the seventh one.

Bucks supposedly drafting Maker.

Wasn't gonna be there in the second round, and probably as much upside as any player in the draft. More bust capability than some, hence why he's there at 10.

GoldenDieners32

Since Thon Maker got drafted by the Bucks do you think Marquette will offer his brother who is apart of the 2017 class his name is Matur Maker.

Maybe Thon will pay for his scholarship!

No idea if Wojo and the coaching staff are interested. But he certainly looks like a legit prospect — he's been offered by Indiana.
