If Wojo isn't interested, he's an idiot.

The addition of White this late would possibly ruin team chemistry.  Pass.

I think he probably already has a school in mind reading between the lines.

I agree, at this late time, they do not need another scorer, if he was 6'8" or better and was a rebounder different story.  They already have Reinhardt, a 5th year
senior, that is enough.

so if he is already matur for his age, then sign him up 'eyn'a? :D

Matur was very good at the NBPA Top 100 Camp last week.

Played on a team with fellow MU-targets 2018 Tyler Herro and 2019 Matthew Hurt.

Matur: 118 ORtg, 24% usage
Herro: 86, 21%
Hurt: 129, 13%

For what it's worth  (not a whole lot) there is speculation from the JS he may move to MKE to be closer to Thon.

Maybe.  Maybe not.  Adding two graduate transfers to the program in one year may not work out as well as you think it would.

Maybe it's due to me not understanding college basketball at all, but I've heard this many times over the years and I don't get it.  Of course it matters!

Who finishes the game doesn't matter if it's not a game...

I wonder what the origins of the old, "it doesn't matter who starts" is... it makes sense that it's repeated a lot - represents a method for a coach to try to not have upset players if they aren't in the starting lineup.

IMO, starting lineups are extremely important.

Allow me to rephrase. Starting lineups matter a helluva lot less than who is getting starters minutes.

What about white tells you that he's not a rebounder? Was it his 6 rebounds a game? Or his elite level defensive rebounding rate?

IDK why we've become obsessed with this idea that PFs need to be 6"8 and huge. Before Henry, we hadn't had a pf that big since Maymon. 6"6 is plenty tall to play the 4.

It was a lot harder figuring out which of the seven wing players wasn't in the 10 man rotation off the bat than really caring if Jajuan or Cheatham had a 1 or 2 by their name.

Another interesting option would be a mini death lineup:

PG Rowsey
SG Howard
SF Cheatham
PF Reinhardt
C White

That's a 5 man lineup, all of whom have put up at least 38.6% from three (except Howard) for a full season. Definitely small, but tough to deny shots with that many shooters.

True.  But, it is a limitation when shooting for championships and high seeds.

1) We aren't getting White.

2) We aren't going to be having 2 separate 5 man lineups going with line changes.

Andrew White would take us from bubble to top 25 easy.
You never know how a guy transferring from a mid-major conference like the B101112G is going to adapt to stepping up the BE

Here's hoping he doesn't go to Dominican.  I'm getting real such of them knocking us (St. Cats) out of the playoffs every year

I seem to recall some guy hitting a game winner in the national championship who was 6"6 and played the four. I really don't think it's a limitation at all.

It's stunning that you feel qualified to make that call.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

The addition of Lebron James could have the same effect.

No reason to not at least take a look at White.

I haven't heard of this LeBron kid ... but if Wojo doesn't get him, it's more proof that he can't recruit.

The jury is still out on Wojo.  I hope MU can make the tourney this year, have lots of talent, lots of potential.  The 2 best players maybe seniors, Buzz's recruits.  So
right now in 2017-18 you have a project in Matt Heldt and and another project in Ike upfront.  Am I missing something, something wrong with this recruiting?  I would
say yes but Wojo is in on a lot of kids for 2017 and 2018,  this will be his opportunity to lay a great groundwork for the future.  Lots of playing time.

Howard and Carter points - looks on paper to be solid
Rowsey and Wilson           - looks solid again
Hauser and Cheatham      - like it
Cohen, Anim and Ike         - fair to poor
Heldt and ??                      - who knows

So can he recruit or not?   Time will tell.  3 potential kids to come and I believe one of them for sure, needs to play ASAP.  Juco kid maybe, or grad student maybe, but
it would be nice to get a high quality freshman with a little bulk.

His team this year being small might be the most exciting since some of Buzz's teams.   Recruiting is important, but lets see how he is able to get his best shooters
good looks.  Third year, needs to show something on the court.  Recruiting then will become easier.  Has Bailey and should get the Hauser kid.  Herro I am not sure about and I think there is better out there to get.  But first 2017,  MU 82, hope I am wrong and gets some high quality players.  Having Howard on the team might be
the start of good thinks to come.   I would hope he becomes friends with some of his teammates on the 2017 team!

It's doesn't take a rocket scientist to know this team is one big man short of having a real shot at the top 3 in the BE.

Wojo should be all over White.

These are the things that should concern you, and likely concern coaches who look into him.
