Season 4.6 fouls/40

Conference only 3.7 fouls/40

Still not stellar, but an improvement.

I feel like Oso had problems fouling early on and has improved. Seems like a growing pain of big men.

It does but there's a subset of Marquette fans who are convinced players don't get better

You are correct.

Oso's fouls/40 by year:
6.3
4.4
3.1
2.6

Hope he can become as good as Brad Lohaus!

You are correct.

Oso's fouls/40 by year:
6.3
4.4
3.1
2.6

All the more impressive when you consider his usage goes up each year and he is playing more min... yes it is per 40 min but when players get tired,  esp big men, they foul.

Oso's fouls/40 by year:

If he stays another year like he should it'll get under 2.0

I'm worried Scoopers think people can't change. I mean, look at me. I used to be a real piece of sh*t. I'm not now, but I used to be.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I'll say for Al Amadou he looks a lot more capable on the court in his spot minutes as a freshman than Keeyan did as a sophomore. I think he'll figure it out.

I had little opinion on Keeyan and probably hoped he might be a player. I do not think there is one guy on this team remotely as close to a project that Keeyan was. I'm not making any predictions on the freshmen class, but definitely far higher on Al than I was on Keeyan.

You get pass for me on your Keeyan expectations because I never feel you are trying to make a point. You are not looking to be smart on your comments for the sake of looking smart and I appreciate that.

Not sure Amadeau will play much either, he is so skinny, plus in 10 months do you think he is going  to become a player?  Should have redshirted him this year.  I can see him  transferring like Itejere
Oso did not do much as a freshman. I do believe Oso was hurt at the end of the year.
A lot depends on how hard Amadou is willing to work.

Oso did nothing as a freshman, and I don't remember hearing he was hurt.

He was hurt for a period of time......he has talked about it.

I don't recall how long it impacted him.or what the injury was.

He injured his foot right after he started to get a few scattered minutes.

Regarding Al, the development of players under Shaka and crew has been phenomenal.   So, if Al is bought in, he will be good.   Raw talent will be refined.

JTJ3

On Shaka's radio show tonight Al said that he showed up at 195lbs last May and is up to 213lbs now.  Good progress, when he checked in on Saturday it looked like he had put on some more muscle too.

Whiffed on Keeyan.

Not so sure he did. Started every game for Northern Kentucky, averaging 8/5, top-50 nationally in eFG%, block rate, and 2PFG%. Maybe he would've been a role player here, but he's been very good in his role there.

onepost

I tuned into the radio show tonight and first and foremost, Jen Lada is SOO much better than Homer on that show that it brings a damn tear to your eye. Kinda appalling that he's been the voice of MU for so long.

BUT

Jen asked Shaka about mid-season recruiting this week and he said something along the lines of "the guy I visited Tuesday hasn't signed yet, so I'm not allowed to talk about him...and I saw Damarius and Royce on Wednesday". If people want, I can go back and find the time stamp.

Full disclosure, I'm desperate for some new recruiting news so I could be reading too much into it, but I wonder if that was a slip that we may be in the driver's seat for the Tuesday guys. Did we figure out if he did watch Nyk Lewis on Tuesday: absolutely my A #1 hope for 2025. But I know he also saw Adrien Stevens on Tuesday. Just food for thought. He's obviously made a serious push for Lewis with how often he's personally been in lately.

DoctorV

Yep, gotta be Nyk Lewis.

He seems to be at the top of the priority list for Shaka.

I remember recently reading something about Lewis saying he's going to take his time and let the process play out and being surprised Shaka is personally visiting him so much.
He must be confident he can land his services.

Does anyone know if there is a cutoff date to be able to re-classify?
I'm wondering if Shaka is making a big push telling him that TyKo could be gone and the need is there with SJ22s injury.

Please tell me which player is the center.

Player A

17.6% D-reb rate
4.3% blk

Player B
15.2% D-Reb rate
4.5% blk

I was hoping BC and others would weigh in, but without further ado, Player A is Ben Gold, Player B is Oso.

Just because Gold doesn't fit the mold of a traditional center, doesn't mean Gold isn't the best option MU has at C for 2024-25.

Next year, not concerned how Owens fits, but concerned about the center position, need somebody to step up! Either Parham or Hamilton, will never be sold that Gold is a center

Why not? I think you're underestimating Gold.

Stevens was my guess as well.  Clear #1 wing target in 2025.

I dont think there is any separation at PG in 2025 between Nigel James and Nyk Lewis yet, both are on the board but months away from deciding still.
