Who were the last 5 freshmen to start at Marquette?

Depends on how many games you mean.

Kam: 7 games

Justin: 1

Dawson: 27

Joey: 31

Markus: 27

Sam: 28

Henry: 33

Vander: 12

I think he starts as a freshmen.

Stevie, Kam, Jop, and Chase all ahead of him.  Chase might even be 6th man again if Shaka lands a PG transfer.

If Owens starts, that's a pleasant surprise.

Don't forget about Jamarius Batemon from Milwaukee Academy of Science in the 2025 guard group.

Royce Parham had 30 points and 15 rebounds in the same game in which the video of Owens came from.

Feels like Iowa State is the leader for Batemon and MU prefers Stevens.

But you're right, worth monitoring.

Garcia, Lewis, Joey, Haanif, Henry?

I know Nyk Lewis is a top 50 guy. What's Stevens ranked? And what's his first name
Bring back FFP!!!

Adrian Stevens, top 100 now and rising every time rankings are updated.  Big, physical three and d type wing.  He is the clear #1 wing target with Kelvin Odih #2.

I dont think there is any separation between Nyk Lewis and Nigel James, the staff would take either and have them rated similarly.

Bateman has been an Iowa State lean for a while, dont expect him to stay home.

Miletic appears to be the new #1 target for a forward.  Amari Allen has been quiet and Xzavion Mitchell doesnt have an offer.  Shaka watched both Miletic and Mitchell around the same time this winter and offered Miletic so that should give us a good idea of the preference there.

Rivals is coming out with new 2025 rankings in two weeks.

As of now, Nyk Lewis is #57 and Nigel James is #133.  I presume both are major targets of Shaka and see what new rankings state.

Miletic is going to Wisconsin.

From watching Stevens in game video's, I would argue he is a 2G and can even swing over to handle the ball at times.  Small argument and just my opinion.  Depends how you define wing versus 2G.

I was convinced Hanni would be after his Freshman year.

Henry, no because everyone knew he was a one-and-done. Had it been the old days when even the Patrick Ewings, Grant Hills, and Christian Laettners stayed four years, then Henry would have been.

I read somewhere that Sonon, top 20 recruit that Shaka was previously in on and is being recruited by Hurley, was in attendance yesterday.

Seems like the rich are going to get richer...

As an aside, it's got to be a crazy feeling being a Hugh Schooler knowing that in less than a years time you could be a millionaire. How things have changed.

Shaka may not end up getting the five stars, but as Parham and Owens are showing, the talent he is bringing in continues to get better.
