If your whole identity is based on how many deflections and turnovers your team creates per game then one might surmise it makes a lot of sense to be recruiting a lot of long athletes who can force turnovers, block shots, run the court and finish in transition.  All great teams have that ability to create those 10 to 0 runs that separate them from their competition... Marquette was very effective at that last year and turned a lot of halftime deficits into 2nd half leads with these type of runs. 

Further when this kid is only 17 or 18 and already 6'11, has range out to three and many power teams have been offering him right and left then it might be that this kid is a very talented and could even be a pro prospect after a couple years in college.  Not everyone is built like a man at 18 like Lebron was, many kids have to stop growing taller to finally start filling out once their metabolism slows down a little between 18 to 20... then once they reach 20 they can put on even more muscle mass.  I'm betting Oso will be 10 to 15 lbs. heavier this year than he was even last year as he'll be over 21 this year. 

I really like Shaka's recruiting and think Josh Hill would be yet another huge get for Marquette.

I don't think we need need Issiah, Kon, Sir because Demarius Owens will be better than all of them at the 2 or 3.

I think Hodge would be a great get too and would be effective playing for us at the 3 or 4.  Good frame, athletic ability and overall game to be an effective Big East player.

For what it is worth. I personally would prefer both Hill and Hodge to Sir.

Sir really can't shoot well at all. In aau he finished 26.8% from 3 and 52.2% FT. 42.8% TS. His best percentage season was his last year in HS, on an awesome team with many D1 players in a public HS league. He shot 33% from 3 and 71% FT.  The positives for Sir are his versatility and his ability in the pick and roll.

Hill is just the type of recruit that has amazing measurables and upside.

Hodge is a versatile wing than can play anything from the 3-5 tomorrow. He affects all the aspects of the game.

Isaiah is great and a very strong role players, but I just think he and Owens overlap a bit too much. And he's gonna go to UConn unless something dramatic happens. (As long as his cousin doesn't follow him, I'm cool with it)

Kon is great, I just think he'll go to Virgina or Duke in the end, and he is planning more visits to notre dame and Alabama. It's just a busy recruitment.

You get kids like Josh and they will stick around for a few years, Todd Smith will do his magic and they can develop with Shaka which he wants, I agree with your points!
