I know a lot of MU alums that haven't been to campus in decades. Many of my housemates from the '80's became more wrapped-up with their kids' schools...Syracuse, Pitt, Clemson, MI State, West Point etc. Heck, I live in the MKE 'burbs and have only been on-campus to drop off auction items for the Blue&Gold Fund, so not sure that even counts.

Exactly.

I consider myself a pretty big fan. Frankly, by definition, pretty much any Scooper is significantly more interested in MU basketball than the average fan. We're not normal. Arguably, we're not well. And, the last time I was on campus, they were constructing a new building in the parking lot between BMU and Marquette Hall (i.e., Cudahy Hall).

I don't think we should read too much into this. If Faisal had negative feelings about Marquette, it's unlikely his son would have taken an official visit and made MU one of his finalists.

Right, but it may mean he doesn't have overly warm feelings to campus either.

He probably had a bad experience at Real Chili.

Sounds to me like Shaka is burning a lot of bridges with alumni.  Between this and Jim Butler, one wonders what is going on

I suppose.
But I would suspect that if he chooses UConn over Marquette, it's because he simply prefers UConn and its plan for his development, and has nothing to do with negative feelings from him or his family about MU.

Can't be......must be something about a family member didn't like something.

Don't worry scoop taught me that Duke doesn't care about winning so he won't go there.

Duke does not care about winning nor are their fans afraid of Radford or Georgia Tech.

MuMark

If you read the JS article on his visit.....Faisal and Isiah  couldn't have been more complementary of MU and Shaka.

Sometimes a player can really like more then 1 school....but ultimately has to choose only 1.

I know that might be shocking to some....

Based on everything said here and linked. I think our best chance is if Ngongba goes to a blue chip ex UConn. Tough sledding if he goes to UConn.

Actually not until about 45 minutes after Real Chili.

Laz Hayward saw ghosts at the Al. Not a single ex player has come near the place since.

It will also be interesting to see where his cousin chooses as well. MUBB was the only school in his final list that didn't recruit/offer both players. I know his cousin has recent offers from Duke, Michigan etc...as well to go with several others.

Gonna be tough to overcome his cousin going to UConn.

He just picked up an offer from Kansas.  So there's hope.

Exactly.....he got a crystal ball and all we hear is reasons why he chose other schools.....even though....wait for it...he has yet to commit.

Marquette commit Damarius Owens is having a GAME for his City Rocks team. He has 18 points on 8/9 from the floor, and we're not even halfway through the third quarter. Getting to the hoop with ease and has shown off his jumper, going 2/3 from deep.

That Indy Heat team was BAD. Owens finished 10-11 scoring 23 points. Mason Blackwood a 2025 recruit Marquette offered came off the bench and shot 9-9 scoring 19 points in 16 minutes. His average PPG was under 5.

Royce Parham also played well tonight. Next year could be a very special recruiting class that sets this program up for years to come. Would love to see one of the big three remaining targets commit.

Royce is special. He is young for his class and he is an extremely efficient player. His TS% is 66.6% and he has been a 77.8% FT shoot. As his three catches up to his free throw percentage watch out.

That's great because I think that's what this years class will be.

Im still very optmistic. I think we were the leader and he just had to see UConn to rule out Turdley and Co. I think the quick commitment is a good sign for MU.
