Shrewsbury's departure definitely helps, but his mom being a PSU alum and it being his hometown team means they aren't out of it.

Or does it just shift interest from PSU to Notre Dame?

No need to get ugly about this.

Apparently Parham's mother played at PSU. Even with the coaching change, plenty of time fir them to reconnect with him. But, I hope he ends up at MU.

I'm just reacting to those who posted that Shrewsbury's move from PSU to ND means his list is likely cut from 4 teams to 3.  Given our own experience picking up 3 of Shaka's Texas recruits after he made the move, I suspect there's at least a chance that ND is either added to the list or replaces PSU.

We have reached the point where Badger fans are posing as Marquette fans tweeting at Marquette recruits saying we don't want them.

This guy must've run out of things to do in his mom's basement.

No kidding.  He Tweeted out asking for people to wish him luck as he applies for a job.  That explains a lot.

Scoop should all make sure to reply and wish him luck from the MU fanbase.  Seriously.

His mother would not let him anywhere near her basement, home or herself!

Watching other teams play makes me wish that Shaka with his great recruiting leverage would add an agile 7 footer to the roster. It would definitely put us over the top.

He's also bragging about his time share in Fort Meyers...cause most people with a "kick ass time share" in a place don't know how to actually spell the city's name.

Respectfully, this is not true. I obviously cannot speak for every school -- or even Marquette for that matter -- but there absolutely are schools that preclude athletes from some majors. Having had my daughter (and her teammates) go through the recruiting process, I have seen it. It might not be the norm, but it does happen.

Interesting. I believe Tony Smith was an Engineering major at Marquette.

Jerry Homan ended up a dentist after MU and Ulice Payne ended up a prominent lawyer and executive.

Perry Wallace, one of Vanderbilt's all-time greats, was an Engineer who after undergrad went to law school and ultimately taught law at American University, after working for the EPA. Terry Compton, who played for Vanderbilt against us in 1974 was an engineer who ended up working for my Dad.

As best I can tell, you can be anything you want at Marquette. Or at most other schools.

That is the Kiwi.  Agile 7 footers are worth their wait in Gold.

Yep. He's a work in progress but we've seen him put it on the floor from the top of the key and finish. That's a rare skill set

Agree. He's done it several times, too, and it's a sign that he's more than just a pick-and-pop guy. I look forward to his continued development in a Marquette uniform. He could be an important player for us next season and beyond.

Agree 100%. Ben Gold will be a great Warrior. He's got game.

Well, I didn't use the word great. Still too early to know that. But I do think he can be a very productive player for us next season and has a chance to be really good someday ... or even great if he improves a ton on all the stuff he needs to work on.
