Indiana didn't think Dominic James was good enough either.  Fifth in points, second in assists and 4th in steals all-time at Marquette.

If Shaka wants him and Indiana doesn't, thats good news for MU.

I will say, an IU coach overlooking a recruit from eastern Indiana is different from overlooking somebody from Bloomington

Buzz brought in quite a few players who were "under the radar." His teams did ok and a few of the players are still producing in the NBA. Just sayin' as an exmple.

Buzz did ok because his teams were also loaded with "Above the Radar" talent:

Jae was JUCO player of the year
DJO and Buycks were JUCO all-Americans, and Butler was an JUCO Honorable Mention AA
Jamil, Vander, JaJuan, and Junior were top 50 out of HS.
Juan Anderson, Steve Taylor, Donnte Burton Jamail Jones, were top 100.

About the only major contributor you could fairly consider "under the radar" was  Davante Gardner.  Maybe Todd Mayo, but he was well known because of his brother.

TedBaxter

When I look at his video, I see a player similar to Jamil Wilson when Jamil was at Horlick.  Just my opinion.

Nice article on Nick Jankowski with MU mention:

Would be a massive instate win for Shaka.  Really good fit for what we do offensively.  Big guard who can shoot but also run a pick and roll and create.

I thought by definition JUCOs were under the radar. In their element they were tops, yeah, but we can argue that point forever.

No question the offense (at least what MU ran this year) would be perfect for Nick.  A lot of open 3s and pick and rolls.

I feel like Madison is probably the favorite here. I don't believe they've offered to this point, but he seems to be awaiting an offer as they've been mentioned many times.

He is the ideal fit for the Golden Eagles though.

Lol, we're goin go all the way back to Buzz?   Those days of MU BB relevance are long gone my friend.

Dai-Dai Ames is a huge prospect, really like his game. And he's a top 50 guy so we don't have to hear "oh great another unranked three star"

"Marquette, Kansas State and Illinois are my top three right now," Ames said following his Friday night game in Orlando. Ames, who is currently ranked as the No. 45 prospect in the country, plans to visit Marquette next weekend

Don't want him, doesn't fit the culture.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Rayvon Griffith was a 2023 we offered but never felt like we made a ton of headway. He just announced his top 5, no MU.

New 2023 offer:
https://twitter.com/CareyBooth0/status/1513347010765590532

Carey Booth son of former NBA journeyman Calvin Booth. Not ranked anywhere that I can see but he picked up offers from us, Iowa, OK State, and Cal in the last 24 hours. According to this he had a pretty good weekend:

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

JQ Roberts talked to 247.  Not much of an update, but he talks about the official visit he took to Marquette during the season.

FWIW, his dad's isn't just a journeyman, he's the GM of the Nuggets and the man who happened to sign Markus Howard.

MU represented at Milan Momcilovic's game at Nike EYBL

https://247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Basketball-recruiting-Milan-Momcilovic-Amier-Ali-Layden-Blocker-Elijah-Gertude-186009401/

"One of the top performances of the day came from 6-foot-8 junior Milan Momcilovic. Currently ranked No.42 in the class, Momcilovic showed off his offensive skill set shooting 6-8 from three, great footwork, played out of the post, and made good reads. Momcilovic isn't the greatest athlete but his offensive skill set more than makes up for it. In terms of his recruitment, coaches from Iowa State, Minnesota, and Marquette were all court side for last nights game and were all mentioned to be recruiting him the hardest"

I like what JaQualon had to say about Shaka. Shaka told him where he need to improve and that honesty was appreciated.

First kid Shaka watched during last weekends live period.  Looks like the type of 5 he had at Texas.  Him and JQ Roberts would certainly up the level of athleticism in the frontcourt.
