Juan Anderson's Mixtape

Shaka is in home visiting Al Amadou today.

I had no idea he visited in October.   Thought MU's interest was fairly new, but apparently this recruitment has been going on much longer.

Amadou would be a great pickup.  Long, athletic, and he shows some three point range in highlight videos.

Sean Jones senior year highlights

Man I know he's a young kid but he looks absolutely elite with the ball in his hands. I remember watching Symir's tapes and thinking he would be a great PG (I think he was ranked around 40 nationally before reclassification). Sean looks significantly better than Symir ever did to me. Really exciting.

He visited the same weekend with Devin Royal and Dailyn Swain and they all sat together at the public scrimmage.

Swain mentioned Marquette at his swishNdish interview. Seems like MU is still an option.

The problem is that we don't have much room on the roster.

There will be 3-4 spots.

As of right now we have two spots open in the 2023 class. Wrightsil will graduate and open a scholarship and Lewis has declared for the draft which opens another (that could be filled this year by a multi-year transfer or Lewis returning).

There is currently 1 spot. That is assuming Justin leaves.

2 at most if Ellis or Itejere feel they are buried, but I doubt either are at that point yet.

Its 2 spots for 2023. Lewis and Wrightsil will be gone by then. And one or two transfers out by a sophomore or junior seeking minutes.

That's also what I expect.  It's the nature of the beast.

Wait, 2023? Why are we skipping next year. I missed something.

Sean Jones looks like the real deal. Always nice when a season long highlight tape is close to 20 minutes instead of 3-4. Lots of good moments in a 25-30 game season.

I worry about his height but the skillset looks advanced for a high schooler. Great handle, good change of speed/direction and that speed and athleticism can't be taught.

He looks like a real offensive plus. Here's hoping he takes pride in being the kind of defender Alexander is at St. John's. Little guys can cause big problems; they just have to really dedicate themselves to the craft.

I always take recruiting reports with a grain of salt, but everything I've read indicates that his defense is ahead of his offense.

Steals aren't the best indicator of defensive quality but he led the Nike EYBL in steals per game.

Well, that's great. Thanks for the info. I'd love to see Sean be the kind of defensive pest that Posh has been for St. John's.

Sean's offensive game looks pretty good to me, but obviously it's against fellow prepsters.

In general, we use this thread for high school recruiting and the transfer portal thread for transfers.

If Sean's defense is better than his offense he might be our best player next year.

Johnny B

some serious hype being placed on this kid

If he's MU's best player next year, it might be a long season.
And the coaching staff has some player development issues.

Doubtful. How many injuries for this to happen? at least 4?

tower912

Yeah, some serious brake pumping has to happen on the hype train.
