I hope Shaka looks to transfer portal for the big guys. A proven track record of guys that can fit is system would be big IMO.

I just do not see why people believe there are going to be a lot of good big men in the portal. There will be  alot of competition for any good big man.

Why will there not be a lot of good big men in the portal? Is there a track record of few bigs that transfer?

No doubt there will be a lot of competition for any good big man or good guards for that matter. I have no idea if Shaka can recruit them successfully but he is building a good reputation with transfers this year which can only help but certainly no guarantees.

We R Final Four

Both these statements are equally true.

Because there will be a lot of competition for big dudes, doesn't mean Shaka Can't get one.

I love it! I dare anyone to watch their tape and not see 2 perfect fits for this system. I don't care at all that they're out of the top 150 for some weird reason. Both dudes have upside, and their floor is at least a contributor. They might have Ellis type frosh minutes (or might have Kam or Stevie type minutes, that'll get sorted out in practice) but that's totally fine if so. I would make a sizeable bet that both will be high quality starters as upperclassmen on a top 25 squad.

Time to face facts: Sean Jones and Chase Ross could both be as bad as similarly ranked Cam Jones.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Who is Cam Jones?

Class of 88.   Great guy.  Last I knew he was teaching in Alaska.

Yikes at MU and Nova, for different reasons.

Justin Edwards at 8 --- seems like a pipe dream but I know Shaka has seen him

Dai Dai Ames at 45 --- definitely who I want most in this class and we look to be the favorite

Jahnathan Lamothe at 50 --- he saw us when he unofficially visited Gtown a month ago, not a bad MU game to see in person - leaders look to be MU, Gtown, and Ohio State

Devin Royle at 102 --- Shaka has seen him a couple times

Daniel

Trusting Shaka and what he sees in our recruits for next year.   Go Marquette!

Not gonna get hung up over recruiting rankings anymore.

Davante was a two star, Wojo had dozens of four and fever five stars.

I trust Shaka to learn from his Texas experience and get recruits that fit his system. And if they happen to fall in the top-20, well that's just fantastic.

Just speculating, but I'd say the ranking are more irrelevant than ever since the pandemic. Most likely less travel and less evaluation from most of the ranking sites. Could be wrong, but seems plausible. Agree though, get guys that fit the system and get some transfers each year.

Just for the fun of it I just looked and when Justin Lewis took his official to Marquette he was ranked 132nd in the class.  🤔

Here's the only MU mention: "As of late the 6-foot-10 composite four-star has had Michigan, Iowa, and Seton Hall join his recruitment as of late and is still being recruited hard by Rutgers, Tennessee, UConn, Providence, Marquette , and Kansas."

Can we get the Buyout Group (or Person) to pitch in and get Oscar Tshiebwe to transfer to MU?
