Aidos and next man up, hey?

Yessir.  Wish him well wherever he ends up.  Full faith in this staff to use that spot wisely

If Garcia is gone, then...lets get Aidoo

I can tell you right now, Garcia is about 50 times more likely.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

So would Aidoo have been gone regardless of who our coach was next yet?

I think that's correct. He hadn't signed yet.

? He verballed to Wojo. If Wojo were here....Aidoo probably would be as well.

A lot of people were saying that because the blue bloods were starting to notice him that they wouldn't expect him to actually set foot on campus.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

I would have been very surprised if he hadn't opened his recruitment regardless. There were a lot of voices in his ear when his recruiting blew up since his commitment, from what I've heard.

So assuming Joplin is on board and Garcia returns, we still have three openings for next season correct?

DJ Carton
Justin Lewis
Greg Elliott
Dexter Akanno
Oso
Jose Perez

Stevie Mitchell
Kameron Jones

Dawson Garcia
David Joplin

I think that is right.  Got some wood to chop still.

The G league Ingite team still needs their starting 5. Im guessing its Hardy, Foster, Tyty Washington and 1-2 others. I wouldn't be shocked if Aidoo will have a mid tier offer from them. Plus UNC and Tennessee opened up to be viable options for him to play early for.

And I'm pretending the covid 5th year isn't a thing - until someone uses it (then I'll create a new color/status)

The list of pursuits has to be:

Tamar Bates
Transfer SF
Transfer C

Not a lot out there about Emarion Ellis staying or going from UT. Although, Hatt seemed to be the lead recruiter for him and he just got Quad Cities "Iowa Player of the Year" and Class 3A player of the year (Mr. Basketball is DeVreis' kid).
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Wonder if Carton knows him.

To a place where you pay for everything in USD

Having said which, in Panama they use US currency but call it "Balboas."

A lot of Panamanians will actually get pissed if you say 'dollars' (this was particularly true during the Noriega era.)

If you were driving off Howard AFB you needed to have a cold six in the crew van because the PDF goon on a motorcycle would pull you over for no reason other than to shake you down. Amazing how a PBR six-pack kept you out of a Latin American gaol.

I imagine the backup plan for Bates is a transfer SG. We also have to see if Shaka uses all 13 scholarships or saves one for next year.  Right now, Elliott is the only senior.  Of course, I also expect some roster attrition next offseason.

I lean towards using all of them, but only on high level players.  An extra spot for 2022 HS recruits has more upside than an end of bench type.

I think that encourages transfers. Once we get into the BE season, the rotation is gonna narrow to 8 players (give-or-take). If high level players are stuck on the bench, they ain't stayin' for too long.

You want about 8 high level players and then fill out with developmentals and 2-3 star guys.

Perez is a senior too.

And I think they will be looking for a SG regardless if Bates is here or not.  Relying on a freshman to fill that role just isn't great.

I think that we can all agree that "too many high level players" is a problem we'd be willing to tolerate next season.

Every time someone (rightly) remarks about how usually it is unwise to rely on a freshman to start in the backcourt, I think back and marvel at how little realization I had about just how incredible the Big 3 were in '05-'06.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I'm not sure there is much room for Bates now.  Already have three guards coming in.

Would like a transfer big and transfer SG assuming we land Joplin and no one else leaves.

Yeah. It's a good problem to have during the season. Not quite as good after the season.

Has there really beem any confirmation regarding Kam other than that one tweet of his the day shaka was hired?  Ellis and Bates both look like better fits for a shaka team.
