I was very excited during the Buzz era and enjoyed it a lot. That said, it took me awhile to warm up to Buzz and by the time he had the hook in me I knew his time at MU was going to be short lived. My excitement level is high because Shaka is a big time hire and I think he is going to be here for a long time.

Note--I was jacked up when KO was here, but also knew he was going to be short lived at MU. IMO, this is the first time in decades that I believe that we have the right guy and he is not going anywhere for quite some time. Those two factors are very big for me.

I agree, I think he stays for a long time. I'm super pumped about it

Now go get Aidoo, Shaka!
Bring back FFP!!!

Gotta think that Roy leaving UNC helps us with the Aidoo recruitment, yes?

Still haven't heard much about it outside of previous news. But do you think this puts RJ Davis back on the market as well?

As the world turns.

Exactly my first thought (re: Aidoo) when I heard the news

Everyone was excited by the results on the court, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone that was excited when the hire was announced.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Or was pleased by the off court issues even if they chose to ignore them.

Is this quote a disqualifier, because it means Mitchell has terrible judgment?

"I was sad to see it," Mitchell said of Wojciechowski's exit.

Stevie Mitchell encouraged by early conversations with Shaka Smart & talks about getting Jonas Aidoo back in the fold:

Based on his quotes, it would seem that Shaka is actively trying to develop relationships with all the MU players and commits, and is likely encouraging them to take some time to get comfortable with the new relationships before making any firm decisions.

If so, might be why we haven't heard anything regarding "firm commitments."

You're taking a shot at a high school kid because he was sad to see that someone he had a relationship with lost his job?
Be better, 82.

Ohhh lighten up, Francis.  It was clearly a joke.

Sure Sign of Jsglows Return

A page of posts in the recruiting thread having nothing to do with recruiting!  Come on folks, back to recruiting business.  Do it for the glowster.

Ha, so kind. Thank you.

Quick story. ChickJr was known as Glow during her time at MU. Amateur; 30 years too late.

Also... Remember the night we beat 'Cuse on Big Monday when Davante went off and Jake hit the 4pt? Chick and I went to Caf's for a beer afterwards. Half hour in I hear a familiar voice.... 'OMG, my parents are in MY bar!' Young Glow had some life lessons yet to learn.  Carry on; back to recruiting.

Chick Jr. would say that 🙄 Glow Jr was much more accepting of your presence at Caffs after the game at the Al because of the free beverages.

Then we did rail tequila...

Just so we have this one get back to recruiting. Tall Titan posted this in the transfer thread as well.

The important part:

QuoteBates backed out of heading to Austin when Shaka Smart left to take the head coaching job at Marquette.

"For me it was pretty simple," Bates said. "I committed to Coach Smart, not Texas. So when he left I knew I would have to look at my options."

So far, Bates has heard from Marquette, Gonzaga, Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky and Washington.

He's an electric player. Hope to see him commit to Shaka a second time and wear the blue and gold.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I remember that night young Jedi.  Pleased that you do as well. Trust you've graduated from that particular rail.   :)

You must be a fisherman the expert way you bait that hook.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
