Guessing we'll see some CB/Future Cast groupthink now, but the Branham & Bossi predictions are likely the meaningful ones. I know we don't have the marquee, Garcia-level stud in the 2021 class, but it does look like a solid group of 3-4 year guys that can grow together, similar to how we're now hopefully seeing returns on the Cain/John class.

Marquette is never going to be a 1-and-done system. We might occasionally land a Hank because of a perfect confluence of circumstance, or have an outstanding 4-star who develops more quickly than expected and leaves after a year (we don't know yet if this describes Garcia).

Our best route back to regular second-weekend -- and hopefully third-weekend -- appearances is by doing exactly what you say: landing solid players with skill who can keep getting better and who are likely to stay for years, bring in an occasional transfer, coach 'em up.

That's how Wisconsin stays relevant. It's how Virginia won the national title. It's how Butler got to b-t-b title games. It's largely been how Wright has won. It's how Creighton has ascended. Etc, etc, etc.

And it would be fun as a fan to get to know players and watch them improve before our very eyes.

So it's all on Wojo and his assistants. They have to keep bringing in classes like this one, like the one they would land if Aidoo comes here, etc. And they have to show they can improve as a coaching staff, too.

Has Aidoo mentioned when he plans to make his choice?

If we get Aidoo, would it mean Etienne likely would go elsewhere?
I thought one of them wanted to play forward. So one committing might be a help or a hinderance for the other one coming to MU.

Shooter McGavin

If we do land Aidoo I think watching the first two games of the year helped.  Playing Dawson and Theo together demonstrates how  two bigs can work with Wojo.  That is if Aidoo had any reservations about committing with another 6'11 player (with skill) in the fold.

Aidoo has a good looking shot and pretty impressive ball handling skills for a 7 footer. He sure needs to bulk up for Big East play though. Hope MU lands him.

Sounds a bit like Thon Maker.

Looking at the highlights for Aidoo vs those of Etienne--it looks like the two could be complimentary to each other. In a sitaution where the two commit to Marquette, there could be a rotation that shifts Dawson to the 3, with Aidoo/Oso at the 4 and Etienne at the 5.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

So it goes. Glad we have momentum for Aidoo then. The nightmare scenario was getting neither of them, so hopefully teh CB picks are true.

I guess on the upside, we will see Mac Etienne playing at the Fiserv Forum next year.

I figured Bossi was the one that put it over the top, but Jerry doesn't pick until people tell him to. Gotta keep that marketing tool % sterling.

That is assuming there will be fans in the stands.

If we don't have fans in the stands in a year, we are in A LOT of trouble.

wouldnt shock me if full crowds werent allowed. roughly half of people will not take a vaccine so i can see covid creeping into next fall. proably not as bad as it is now but still goin on enough

We R Final Four

Proof of vaccination prior to entrance.
You don't want to get a vaccine?
That's fine.....but you are not coming in here. Ticketmaster said they will start implementing such as soon as the vaccination is available to the public.

Or proof of antibodies?

Ticket prices will drop if they actually implement this because too many people won't be willing to get the vaccine.  Thus demand drops significantly.

We'll see what that roughly half says when it's required by their employers and schools.
Yes, there are some exceptions to mandatory vaccinations, but the great majority of people don't qualify for them.
