"except now you're going to play with better players."

Koby, Greg, Dexter, Symir collectively:

If we land Mane at least one of those will transfer out - of course most likely to be Dex (or Symir if Dex is getting more nod in practice). But that's all part and parcel.

A starting 5 next year of Carton, Mane, Dawson, Bailey and Theo looks pretty good. Three of those gaurds off the bench, Cain for Bailey, Lewis off the bench in the front court. Would probably have to go small at times, but that works for plenty of teams.

That roster would have me excited. But I think Mane is either going pro or MSU, in that order, especially if this Jalen Green G-league thing happens (seems ideal for what Mane wants). Would love to be pleasantly  surprised.

Jalen Green is getting $500k for the new G league select academy..Mane is not eligible for that program, since he is already draft eligible. It's only for HS kids that are NOT currently draft eligible. So mane can still go pro, but it would have to be by declaring for the NBA(he has 8 more days to do so) or by going overseas.

Ah - thanks - that is an important clarification - seems more promising then.

When I went to visit in October it was great. I was hanging out with the team, hanging out with Markus Howard, Theo John and you could see how much of a family environment and how much the players really love it there. That was great to see. Coach Wojciechowski is really cool.

This poor kid hasn't gotten the memo about cancer and de-motivation and nobody ever developing and dissension and all the other reasons why Wojo is never able to sign any good recruits.

Just read about Perez. He has the credentials and he is from New York.
Still want Mane to MU.

It sounds like he was originally 2020, but had decided to go to prep school. Now he is rethinking that decision.

Stretch, I can never tell if you don't like mu82 making fun of other negative posters,  or if you don't know hes being sarcastic and is actually very optimistic about the program

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I actually was very impressed with the depth of his comments about all the teams. He didn't just make references to a coach or two, he talked about all of them and lots of players. Sounds like a kid who has done his homework.

where do you find those great quotes?

muguru

Just an FYI, the US and Canada extended their travel restriction between the countries another 30 days. So, if Mane intends to visit MSU or any other school, he will have to wait until at least the middle of May. Even then there's no guarantee he'd be able to if people still aren't allowed on campus at that point. So, if he commits to MSU he'll have to be satisfied that the virtual visit was enough most likely. MU may be sitting in a really good spot here.

Hypothetically he doesn't have to make a decision until later in the summer though.

No, but we will know if he's testing the waters sooner than that. He has until next Sunday to declare.

I think most people dont understand this but the reality is Mane might come to MU HOWEVER he might not.

This...and if he isn't going to declare, the only thing left is to wait to see if he can ever visit MSU. I doubt that happens..at least with enough time left to enroll etc. Just a gut feel based on nothing, that we might be hearing something on his decision within a couple of weeks.

I think we'll be waiting well into summer. He seems to have no interest in moving things along quickly.

Honestly, if he's going to wait that long, then MU needs to move on IMO...He's been to MU, he knows pretty much all he needs to know about them, they have put more time in than anyone else with him, if he is that hell bent on waiting that long just to visit MSU, then I think that's pretty telling. I mean the way I look at it is this...if he's only going to be someplace for only a year anyway, then go with what you know(MU). Even if you end up not liking it like you thought you might, you only have to make it thru one year. Even with Carton, MU's Guard depth/talent isn't nearly as good as MSU's. That could be a positive or a negative I suppose. other than I look at it like, he could come to MU and play all the minutes he can handle, at MSU probably not as many.

Also, as far as I can tell, if Xavier Tillman comes back, and Langford decides to get a medical redshirt, they don't have a scholarship available anyway. Sure, one of those two things, Tillman staying in, or Langford moving on would free one up, but I just don't see Tillman staying in and I can't see Izzo wanting Langford to move on, he loves that kid..
