Back to back quarterfinal games for Justin Lewis and DaRon Holmes tonight. Free stream via Watch Stadium. .....

https://mobile.twitter.com/bbcbasketball/status/1210934949865500672

Lewis had 13 and 7 (6-17, 1-7 from 3) in 62-56 loss to St. John's DC

I watched The Poly game. Lewis's defense in the post was not good.....opponent had a 6'7 frosh who has a few offers already....he was more physical and dominated in the paint.

He will learn to play harder as many high school kids need to when they get to college......he plays a lot of minutes and kind of paces himself ......

Not a good game for him or the team.....'St Johns sat in a zone and game was played at a slow tempo. Nothing in transition.

Thanks for the report. I always like to hear how kids are doing in  high school games where winning and losing matter more than individual showcasing.

He had a few good buckets early, but I agree that he didn't seem to be "on" for a lot of ir.

Yep. It's important to see multiple games instead of just one good or bad or highlights. Nobody is good every night.

DaRon Holmes had a rough one too 2 for 11, 7 and 7 night in blowout loss to Long Island Lutheran. (Zed Key and Andre Curbelo had monster games for LIL) Between Miller (Morgan Park) and Curbelo, Illinois is getting two terrific backcourt players.

Oso had 15 in a close tourney loss last night.

Never recruit siblings.

Going to be interesting to see how the Badgers manage the Davis brothers next year since one is clearly better than the other.

If this was already posted from last week, I apologize. I've been less than vigilant in this thread lately:

QuoteLet me say this first; things are far from complete in the recruitment of Karim Mane, so while he might make for a good fit at Marquette, defeating Alabama, DePaul, Maryland, Memphis and Michigan State will not be easy.

If he does decide on the Golden Eagles, while filling the shoes of Markus Howard will not be easy, this is one of the best scorers that the college game has seen this decade, Mane has the talent and abilities to erase some of the void left by the All-American. Mane wants the ball in his hands early and often next year; Marquette is one of the few that can offer such an opportunity. Mane's size and versatility allows for him to play a variety of positions along the perimeter and while his shot making is not that of a Howard-type, his toughness and ability to get to the foul line neutralizes his perimeter shot-making inconsistencies to an extent.

While he would be a great win for the Golden Eagles, let's not slight Marquette's backcourt as is. I love Dexter Akanno's abilities on the defensive end, Koby McEwen's well-rounded approach, and that Greg Elliott and Symir Torrence have what it takes to take on a giant role in Steve Wojciechowski's offense.

Doubt they'd be targets, but the Mitchell brothers are transferring from Maryland. Hope wojo stays far away from brothers from now on.

Pat Ewing's got openings.

Hearing Patrick Ewing could be meeting with the Mitchell twins as soon as today.

Better game for Lewis......Holmes with 9 and 12

Better game is an understatement. 26 and 10 including 4/8 from three. Very nice performance.

I think Gard recruited them out of pressure from alumni and fans since he failed to recruit much his first couple years.  His recruits are mediocre at best.

Sorry to nitpick but 21 points in 26 minutes. Good numbers except only 4-11 on 2 pt shots and 1-3 on free throws.

1-3 on free throws? Really? Not even worth mentioning

The 5 assists only 1 turnover and 4 steals are though......

Still not crazy about his effort level on the defensive end when I watched but the coaches will take care of that.

Yes, I know, we got burned twice; but the Lopez brothers worked well for Stanford who burned us as well.

Also, the Martin twins played well for Nevada (but only after transferring from NC State).

And as 9-9-9 would attest, we would be No. 1 in the nation if only we had populated our roster with the dozen or so Greek Freak Brothers.
