Not really as Mark covers all levels of BB in WI.

It's strange that he feels the reader needs that clarification.

I think up until a few months ago, Davis was mostly being recruited by lower level schools. He really caught some attention starting around the state tournament, maybe a little before.

If you follow his postings,  Mark identifies each and every college commitment by name of school and their NCAA Division. So there is in fact no clarification it is simply his writing style.

With the new NCAA recruiting calendar putting coaches out watching players for a very limited time this spring, most schools are offering a number of 2020 kids right now. Who are the priorities?  I don't know.

I do know that 2 of my favorite Marquette targets right now, Coleman Hawkins and Johnny Davis, received offers within the last week and they won't be the highest ranked players on Marquette's offer list.  We'll have to see how this all plays out.

Btw, I think Dawson, Gabe, Suggs & Chet are all playing down the street from my house this weekend. My team is off this weekend, so I'll probably catch some action (at least Friday night, maybe more). D1 MN Spring Classic

Can you link?  The D1 MN Spring Showcase was in April.  The Summer Classic is in July.

Ethan Morton verbally committed to Purdue today, so we can cross him off the list.  This article does mention MU as a finalist who apparently made a strong push at the end.

Hoping an MU offer materializes soon. Alex stock is moving up.

He looked good last night, but his whole team did. They put something like 120 on a Minnesota Bulldogs team.

Alex is actually a fairly low usage guy for Playground... completely different look than Kostas at the same time. Kostas was much taller, longer... Alex is a better shooter, more developed skills, and at his size (6'6" ish), capable of guarding various players. He knocked down a couple of triples in rhythm that looked great - can he consistently do that? Not sure. But, he looked good. Good length at his height, athletic, can block/steal, nice above the rim. I'd continue to monitor. Came out appreciating him more than I did coming in.

BTW, Duane Wilson was there watching the game while his pops was coaching. Swaggy Du was sporting an MU jacket and his kid was dribbling all over the building like Steph.

Other MU-involved guys... Johnny Davis. Fairly big, solid kid. Worry with him for me might be outside shooting - not sure how good he will be. But, he can bully off the dribble, and he went on a streak of like four just vicious dunks on the other team. 2/3 guy, if you had to comp to a current MU guy, probably Sacar.

The Madsens... Gabe Madsen was just stupid from outside. The kid was hitting everything. When he pulled up for a 24 footer, you know it was dropping. He looked great last night. Very good scorer and he's at a good 6'5" or 6'6". Mason is probably more like 6'3" and played a lot of point. Smart passes, good shooting, showed some athleticism at the rim.

Where do they belong? I think they could - especially Gabe - be leaders at the MM level. If Gabe is shooting and scoring like he did last night, could go HM and see what he can do.

PS - Dawson looked like himself for D1 Minnesota. He can move so well for his size. Capable of doing so many things. If I could snag anyone from MN in his class for MU, it would probably be him.

PPS - 2020 PG Dalton Banks (Eau Claire North / D1 MN) has the look of a kid who will go Horizon/Summit/Big Sky and just ball out. Dude can play. Someone will get a really nice point guard.

Nice write-ups, Jay Bee. Always great to read your latest observations on Marquette recruiting targets. Dawson Garcia sounds intriguing.

I was intrigued by Flood's mention of Johnny Davis "tearing down rims." Would love to see him AND Garcia end up in MKE.

Who is on Playground Elite these days? They really hit hard times after losing out on EYBL spot & Phenom bursted onto the MKE scene

Justin Mallett has an impressive Playground Warriors 17u UAA squad this year

Playground Warriors are now Playground Club. That's my error. Mallett coaches the 17u squad with Johnny Davis, Madsens, and Giannis bro, etc

Playground Elite is also playing this weekend

Here is the official team list: https://events.prephoops.com/e/38/battle-at-the-lakes

Andre Jackson, teammate of Symir Torrence at Albany City Rocks has been one of the big stories of the weekend. 27 points Friday night in win over Indy heat, 17 in a win over Georgia Stars.
