Depends on your definition of roughly.

Many of the greatest MU players in history were not highly ranked out of high school including Wade, Butler and Crowder in the not so distant past.

Top 20 guys are almost always going to be good or great........once you get in the later half of the top 100  and beyond it gets much more iffy .......lots of guys fall through the cracks.

Henry and BMA looked at ratings way back when.  I am guessing this still holds.

The rankings generally correlate to how a player will perform in college. At the very least roughly correlate
Johnny your one of the most astute commentators on this sight. However , I would say ,other than the can't miss prospects,the rankings have very little correlation.

Also as pointed out by MuMark there are many guys who are overlooked in the ratings who do very well.

Garcia = Jon Leuer
Dainja = Xavier Tillman

Those are the plan A guys.  Lots of other 4s on the radar.   Not sure what other 5s are going to be targeted.

So Garcia fits the Sam/Joey mold?  That'll be perfect to keep on the roster once the Hausers are gone.

I think we need a Xavier Tillman.  We haven't had a no-nonsense, physical big, that can score since..um...Jae Crowder?

Would love to lock up Dainja or Garcia ASAP. I think those two are my priority with Symir already on board. After that, you can just go for "best available" options after that (Burnett, J Johnson, Suggs, Strawther, Nix).
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

UNLV men's basketball coach T.J. Otzelberger met with Liberty junior and consensus four-star wing Julian Strawther over the weekend, per source. Visit went well, and the coach made a favorable impression with his energy and style of play.

Not relevant whatsoever to this topic.
I think it is. The post explains why certain quality players emerge later in the process.

Zaire Wade has been playing up for years now. I think he will have a very good performance against his peer group this summer.

If Alex ends up being the same size as Giannis 6-11 he could end up as a diamond in the rough.

Right now it looks like he is more the 6-7 ish size of his older brother who plays in Europe.

Not saying we should make him a priority but worth keeping a close eye on as developments progress .

So are we even looking at 2019 guys anymore?  It seems like we are either saving the last scholarship for a Symir reclass or a transfer.  It also doesn't seem like we are going to see a transfer out, though it is still early, and no word yet from Markus.

I'm getting restless waiting for some recruiting news so we can finally move on from "WOJO IS LEAVING OMG" and "MARKUS IS LEAVING OMG".
