Wasn’t Trevor Powell?

Are there some whispers or just want to stir up some recruiting conversation?

Would be shocked if he's not at a blue blood in a couple years.

This. Incredible talent, and we've offered, but when he backed out on ASU I figured it was to go to a Kentucky or Kansas. Of the three elite talents in Wisconsin, the only one I think we have any real shot with is Jalen Johnson. If we land Johnson, that might marginally improve our chances with Baldwin, but I think any slim Foster hopes dried up when he joined Mac Irvin Fire.

What does playing for Mac Irvin Fire have to do with anything? Ed Morrow played for Mac Irvin

Wojo also was the lead recruiter at Duke for Jabari Parker and Jahlil Okafir, both Mac Irvin Fire guys
Still think Foster is very much a longshot, but it seems Wojo has a relationship with that AAU program.

Those Washington teams completely slipped my mind.   Didn't they win like 4 championships over 6-7 years?  Also featured Latrell Sprewell.

Because it's moving him away from local influences at a time when our staff is trying hard to make inroads with Phenom University. I'd happily be surprised by Foster's decision.

Spree only played at Washington for one year.  The big name from there was Calvin Rayford, who was a real quick, undersized guard who backed up Jacque Vaughn at Kansas.

Following from Rivals.  Nova got the #10 and #11 ranked players from 2019.  2020big for MU.

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Bryan Antoine will deliver Jay Wright his third national title

While Jay Wright is more about relying on his upperclassmen, he has two absolute studs in Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Bryan Antoine. Robinson-Earl faired a bit better than Antoine in Atlanta but that is beside the point; both are going to lend a major hand to Wright’s chances of attaining his third national title in the coming years.

Keeping Villanova’s personnel in mind, the two five-stars, along with Saddiq Bey, Cole Swider, Jermaine Samuels, Collin Gillespie, Jahvon Quinerly and two others four-stars from the 2019 class, write it down as the Wildcats will grab another national title by the year 2022.

I'll take the under on Nova winning another National title by 2022......they will be good obviously.

Duke, NC, Kansas and Kentucky will all likely have even more talented rosters during that period of time.

Odds are against Nova running the table again that soon. When was the last time any program won 3 titles in a 7 or 8 year period?

Jay Wright is a very good coach and they are getting high level talent. So I think at a minimum they will be consistently knocking on door of final four.

Haven’t you read that 2020 recruiting class is our slam dunk big year? We have moved on from year five to 2020 being in the bag.

I am very aware and made numerous posts reference the 2020 recruiting class potential and hopes.  Don’t really care about the year 5 discussion, this is the recruiting thread.

Yup. Not to mention MU has been a 4 seed or better a whopping 5 times in program history. So given MU was just a 5 seed this season I’d say as a whole year 5 was solid.

I'll be interested to see how this works out. The last time Wright chased the elite talents, it culminated in their 13-19 2013 season. It worked with Brunson, who clearly bought into the team concept from day one, but it hasn't seemed as smooth with Quinerly & Antoine is a first rounder on every 2020 mock I've seen. Not sure how they'll fit into the upperclassmen culture that has delivered Nova's recent success.

I’m not buying the idea that Villanova is worse off with higher ranked players.

I can see one-and-dones working there as complimentary players to their upperclassmen, but not as leaders. I think the greatest talent Cal has shown, and one even K struggles with, is getting freshmen to adapt quickly to a strong system, especially on the defensive end. Villanova's success has been driven by upperclassmen development & leadership. If everyone could make the star freshman plan work, Josh Pastner would be a Hall of Famer.

I disregard all recruit rankings. They are not worth the paper they are written on. The can't miss type players are few and far between. The leap to the next level is a big one in any sport and it is always a question how that transition will go. Good coaches are better at evaluating that than recruiting ranking services.

The rankings generally correlate to how a player will perform in college. At the very least roughly correlate
