Ya and a naji marshall type is a future pro, hell ya i want a future pro too
But seems like a smoke induced pipe dream

I was a huge fan of Naji's last season and still am, but I'm not sure what skillset he has that screams "pro."  He's got good size for a college player but not anything overbearing for an NBA player, he's not overly quick or a huge leaper, and his jumper is very lacking.  Strong defender and can defend multiple positions which is important.  But unless he becomes a knock down shooter, I don't see it.

Ryan James the Minny recruiting guru mentioned on his podcast yesterday that Garcia loved his visit here.

And said he expects the gophers to get 1 at most of Carlson/Garcia/Dainja

Might had a little weight to the minor predictions in our favor on Dawson and Dain
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

247 ranks Patrick Baldwin the #1 player in class of 2021.
Michael Foster ranked #4.

Anyone know if MU is getting involved with Max Christine (#7 on the list) out of Rolling Meadows, Ill.?

Mark Phelps is their #1 recruiter for 2019. I think that title might be short-lived

Awesome. Those are some nice breadcrumbs in a slow recruiting time!
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Nah, don't think there's anything with Christie. Can't recall seeing any Marquette coaches at his games.

Dain Dainja's team is the #1 seed at state.. they play their quarterfinal game tomorrow morning at 10am.

This morning at 6:20am (and don't know how early he got there before me) he was in the gym getting up shots all by himself.

I like it.

I remember stories on Theo and the crazy amount of time he would just go in the gym outside of 'normal' practice and work on his game.

Would it be nice to get both bigs, or is one in particular more enticing?

Kind of wonder about Christie myself.   His dad, Max Christie Sr., and Stephanie Hauser were players at UW-Superior at the same time.

Does Dainja moving to Howard Pulley this year do anything for MU's chances?

I don't think it does anything overly special. More than anything, it'll tell us (it = his performance in EYBL play) a lot about Dainja

Different types of bigs. Garcia is a moblie stretch four. Dainja more of a load in the paint. Could easily have both on a roster. If I had to choose one it would be Garcia but fortunately we don't have to pick just one

Jay Bee, how do you think Dainja projects at the next level?
In my uneducated opinion, I love his game and think he could be an All-Conference type player in college.

At a minimum a guy that can be physical, block shots & board. His dribbling, passing & shooting skills at his size are unique though... still needs to all come together consistently... ceiling is very high.. very interested in seeing how he does this spring/summer

Awesome.  I hope Stan keeps grinding and we can bring in both he and Garcia.

I never saw this. But Suggs talks about wanting to get a visit to Marquette. The Strawther/Suggs combo would be fun to add to Symir.

I would like the coaching staff to invest some meaningful time evaluating Zaire Wade this summer. Not saying we should offer yet but he is worth the time .

The young man has many of the same basic qualities that we saw in Ja Morant.  Obviously a lot of refining to do but the basic foundation is in place.

Zaire foremost plays with his head up. That is something not a lot of kids do. He is a pass first point guard  so with that vision and his very good handle he can make plays, he is shifty , has length and can shoot well enough to be a threat .  Don't look at the mix tapes that are out there, they are just made by people looking to get clicks. They don't show the full scope of his game.  If you watch the full games of his EYBL you will get a better feel for who the young man is. Last year Zaire  played up a grade in the summer ball . This year he will be playing against kids his own grade.

So far Zaire has offers from Nebraska, and according to his Dad, Miami. I think young Zaire is a lot bloomer like his Dad.

Who knows, maybe we strike gold twice with the Wade Family .

Hope the recruits weren't watching yesterday. The degree to which that blowout loss impacts their choice may be tiny but its gotta be something

Disagree. It shows that there is playing time available right away.

The recruits Wojo seems close on are 2020 recruits.    For when Markus, Sam, Sacar, and Ed are gone.   By my count, that is somewhere near 110 mpg becoming available.   (based on 2018-19 minutes)

Zaire plays for American Heritage, a big time football factory in south Florida.  Their basketball program is not highly recognized and has experienced issues with some of its players, one of whom was kicked off the team.  Zaire didn't even make All County, so he has a long way to go before being compared to Morant.
