Yeah they'd be wonderful for Drexel or UNI

I like the looks of Akanno. Think he could develop into a really nice high major player. I don't know anything about Dubar though we have a North Carolina scooper who has seen him play and he seems excited.

I trust the staff but would it not make you feel a little better if they were recruiting guys that had a 247 page?

Dexter is the classic recruit that fell through the cracks and is now doing a PG year. Was not from a well known basketball high school, was young for his class and was on a low profile club. As the word has gotten out he has started to get offers from the likes of MU, Virginia Tech, New Mexico and plenty more are on the way.

The ratings and the web pages don't matter as much as the staff evaluations. If it makes you feel any better the word on the street is that he did very well defensively when he played against Nico Mannion which is how the staff stumbled on to him.

Darlinstone has a 247 page and has the likes of K State and Auburn making offers. Those two coaches have 970 career wins between them so I that gives some credibility to Darlinstone's talents beyond just MU .

Also worth noting that these prep schools don't hand out scholarships willy nilly to any kid, they are looking to build there own resumes with quality D 1 athletes.

In my experience, who has offered a player matters a lot more than their ranking. And while I appreciate 247's composite rankings, they are very slow to update and create individual profiles.

Nice that Ethan is making the trip. I wonder if he packages it with a trip to Northwestern and Wisconsin.

Nova gets Bryan Antoine.

Being a shooting guard, I doubt this factors into Mannion's decision?  Anybody want to pony up and pay some recruiting rankers to change his position to point guard?

Agreed.  I think one of the names to watch right now is Cole Anthony.  Has both Nova and Duke in his final 12.  Also has Kansas, Kentucky and UNC so there's a long way to go, but he could cut Nico's list by one if he were to commit before him.

It could. Quinerley is likely going to be there next season and now Antonie could take the starting 2 guard spot. Mannion would absolutely still get minutes there, but it may not be the role he's hoping for.

Or it could not affect him in any way.  Or maybe he loves the idea of teaming up with Antonie. Only Mannion knows.

If you actually believe in the bolded, why do you always reference web pages and rankings for recruits you think MU should recruit when MU doesn't actually recruit them? There are many examples.

Evans talked a little bit about Rocket Watts in his Twitter Tuesday article. Interesting tidbit:

QuoteThe Seminoles are a major darkhorse, though Louisville does have a good shot, as does Michigan State, Marquette and Missouri.

Don't know if Evans actually knows anything or not but this is the first time I've seen us listed as one of the "leaders" for Watts.

I don't know what he knows either.  Corey Evans said MU had a good shot at Jalen Gaffney and a couple days later MU didn't make Gaffney's cut.

Does anyone really know where MU sits with anyone right now?  I know I don't.  Haven't even heard when MU will have in-homes with recruits this fall and those start Sunday.

I think his close friendship with two players on our team is helping the cause. MU has to get past the phase where he goes to the football games and all that hoopla. We then have to get an official. Louisville may seem to be showing Watts a lotta love, but they are also recruiting a whole bunch of other Combo guards and have already signed one shooting guard. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

It has been very long since a Big Daddy update. Wonder if silence is due to coaching staff keeping all recruiting info extremely secretive because they don't want to affect chances of getting certain recruits.
