Article by USA Today on DJ Carton.  Apparently Kansas, Duke, and UNC are trying to get involved.

Hate it when the big boys swoop in at the last minute. They don't have to worry about building relationships. Blue bloods emanate a gravitational pull on the order of a supermassive black hole with 5-star recruits.
The Blue Bloods still have to deliver an actionable offer to Carton.   Marquette status as being an early offer may work to its advantage if the Blue Bloods string things out which they often do.

But even when they are doing well, they sometimes pee down their legs at the last moment.

They should fit in great with the choking dogs of Marquette.

I place the odds of Foster ending up at Marquette at approximately 0.0%.

Come on now.......it has to be at least .001 percent.

Sounds like a really good opportunity  ;D

Thoughts on 2019 recruiting for those in the know:  Any thoughts on top 3 players we have a chance at landing?  Do we get any top 100 guys?  If you had to rank top 3 chances of landing who would they be?  Thanks

Wish list? DJ Carton, Rocket Watts, Samuel Williamson

Likely? Gut says James Bishop, Rocket Watt, Seth Lundy

Watts will be top 50 when all is said and done. Think Bishop and Lundy could both end up in the top 100.

I am super bullish on Watts. Maybe not the right comparison, but everything I see/hear about him reminds me of the drive that Du Wilson had, but with more of a PG feel.

Watts and Williamson are my hope/pragmatic hedge bet. Although I wouldn't be shocked to see the staff go hard after a late bloomer big in the spring.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Watts has been very unique in the EYBL this year. His usage is at 35.2% (shots% of 34.7%). So, super aggressive, shooting a lot. That's very rare and certainly not where Duane was in EYBL.

There are only 3 guys with at least 20% mins played with greater than 35% usage this year (Watts, STUD Cole Anthony, & Jaylen Forbes).

2020 guard Nimari Burnett is taking an unofficial visit to Marquette today, per a source. Four-star guard out of Prolific Prep.

Just to clarify, I view his "work ethic" and drive more than actual gameplay like Du Wilson. Seems he has really, really developed and grown as a player. That is about where comparisons stop for me.

That said, those are really interesting stats, JayBee. Thanks!

I have seen nothing more than about 3 minutes total of highlight video on either player, but Watts looks like McEwen to me.

I want Mannion in 2019, but it seems pretty quiet.

I've said it for awhile and I hope I'm wrong.  I'll be surprised if Marquette lands Carton, Mannion (if he reclassifies), Watts or Williamson.

Thanks for your thoughts, on the other side do you have any feel for the most likely to land here at MU at this point?
