VIP interview for DJ Carton. Nothing too groundbreaking. He does mention wanting to play for a basketball school and wants to win. Here's the section on Marquette:

What stands out to you about Marquette?
I've gotten to know Marquette really well. I've been down there a lot with AAU games and I've gotten to know Milwaukee really well. They are a really good team and they have a lot of good parts. They have a lot of guys coming back. I feel like they could be a Final Four team in the next couple of teams. I have a really good relationship with coach Wojo and he does a good job of developing guards. I definitely have a really good relationship with Marquette.

The others sound pretty similar.

Will be interesting to see how he DJ fares in the U-18 training camp. If he does well, there may be some blue blood teams coming out of the wood work. In the meantime, I think MU offers a good combination of PG role and immediate playing time.

Carton spoke with Zagsblog as well:

Marquette: "Coach Wojo, I feel like he's made me a huge priority. I feel like he's really established that from the get-go and he feels like if they get just one guard in this class, it would be alright. They have a really good young team and I feel like they had a really good season. I feel like I have a lot of interest for Marquette and their University is going the right way."

Was a joke, needed teal I guess. It sounded like Marquette and its university, sort of like all the University of Marquette mentions

Jalen Wilson announcing on Wednesday.  Anything but Michigan would be a shocker

Recruiting has to be so hard mentally for coaches......all that work for years by Stan and couldn't even get him,to visit.

Damn, pretty sure that was the only visit he took. Suppose it's better to lose out now and focus on other recruits than lose him after a drawn out process.

Inevitable, once we lost our Harbaughs.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Damn. Ah well, next man up.

Wojo has spent a ton of money going to Texas to find players, guess that is not working out to well.  Finishing in the Top 5 with kids is great
but bringing one home is tough.  Did this recruit every visit MU?   There is a log jam at the 3 and 4 the next 2 years so it is not that big a loss,
but needs to pull in at least 1 freshman this year,  hopefully a guard, combo guard.

TedBaxter

A guard to replace Chartouny and possibly a big to replace Matt Heldt.

With Killings now on the staff, the New England prep ranks are an area that we could see more involvement from MU.  There are about 4 or 5 6-8/6-9 payers in New England Recruiting Reports 2019 top 10 right now and the player at #10, Wildens Leveque, is a real intriguing player who could develop into a decent player down the road.  Plays at Gould Academy in Maine and is originally from Brockton, MA.  Leveque plays for Mass Rivals on the Adidas circuit.

Haven't seen MU listed with any of those New England bigs to this point.

"bringing one home is tough"

There was a sucessful era of Minnesota basketball where they won with many Texas players.

"Did this recruit every visit MU?"

No (Michigan his only visit?), but we were the early favorites for him.

Zaire making a lot of nice assists  and has a good handle . He needs to develop his offense though. He has a good solid frame at 6-2 175 and two more years to get bigger and improve. I think it is smart that they are playing him with the 2019s.

Wojo should have started recruiting when Jalen's mom was pregnant and convinced her to name him Wojo Wilson. Clearly Wojo can't recruit.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.
