Stan with a new twitter follow:

6-6 SG/SF Terry Armstrong
From Flint, Michigan but plays at a prep school in Arizona.

Just outside the top 100 on 247 composite rankings.

Up to #53 in 247's new rankings.

What's our angle with Rocket Watts again?
Didn't he play on the same team as Jamal and Greg?

And Eke. They all played for The Family.

Think the preference is Carton but would not at all be disappointed with Mr. Watts. Scoop will hate him though, shoot first PG. Kid loves getting buckets

Watts plays for The Family, which is the same summer team Cain, Elliott, and Eke played for.

Watts is friends with Cain and Elliott, too.  In a couple recent articles he mentioned talking to Elliott a lot, and I think Watts also mentioned Cain in one of the articles.

That's what I thought, thanks for the confirmation.

Obviously the dream is a Carton/Wilson 1-2 but if all of these articles and sources saying Carton is leaning Big 10 are accurate (I refuse to buy too much into it until the guy has actually taken his officials) then still getting a top 50 PG would be outstanding IMO.  Really nice getting in early with a riser like Watts who seemingly has more and better relationships with our guys than anyone else's.

Coaches have visited him several times.
He was here for Madness too.

If Watts or Carton want to commit, you take it and move on from the other. Either would be an incredible commit with McEwen already here.

Watts at Atl EYBL 4Games
29.8 PPG
48.6% FG
47.7% 3PT
92.9% FT

247 released new 2019 rankings today. Some MU related ones:
[previous ranking] to [new ranking]
Nobal Days is down to 292. Whoa.

I live in Racine and work in a rival high school...and I haven't heard or seen the name Nobal Days anywhere but Scoop in ages.  Not even the Journal-Times is hyping him, and they couldn't stop writing about JC Butler (who ended up at a CalState school, but I don't remember which one).

One of the things to remember about the '19 class is that nobody can reasonably expect starting minutes as a Frosh. I'll call that a nice problem for Wojo during his recruiting.

From what you've seen/researched Jay Bee, between the two possibilities of Carton and Watts who would you rather see us bring in?

Interesting. I could be wrong but I would imagine the 5 star So Cal kids are very hard to get away from the west coast if you aren't a blue blood.

Yeah, feels like one of those offers you make and see if there is any interest.  Often goes nowhere but no harm in offering.

Carton appears to be a good fit (work ethic, what's important to him, etc.). I'm not worried about our offense. He can score, but he'll give you whatever you need and should be a good defender in college. Goes waaaay back with MU, so let's hope for the best.

Watts might be more like Markus in the regard that he can play PG, but he may be a SG. Scorer. Having a 35% usage rate in EYBL play and a solid ORtg is a good sign.. the ORtg isn't quite strong enough to be a #donedeal #guaranteedLegit guy, but it's interesting. He'd be fun to watch, but he'd take a lot of shots.

Either would be a pleasant addition.. but, I'd lean Carton based on personality, style, projected teammates, etc.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Really appreciate getting your input on it.  I think we'd all be ecstatic with either, but I do think there's something special about Carton.  He reminds me so much of Jalen Brunson.  Looks like we're in a good place with both, but you're right that we can only hope for the best.

I would be telling them the great earth quake is due and it is safer to be in Wisconsin, which does not have a fault line.

Haha after visiting SoCal and the Pacific Northwest for the first few times the past few years, the earthquake threat is the only thing keeping me in the Midwest (along with the large family/friend contingent I have here). Kept me sane at the end of this past neverending winter too. Repeated to myself like a Zen mantra ("at least there probably won't be an earthquake here, at least there probably won't be an earthquake here, at least there probably won't be an earthquake here")

West Coast kids deal with earth quakes, no big deal.  They feel one earth quake of significance every decade, the weather in the midwest winter is daily.  West coast kids are soft when it comes to weather.

False.

http://www.wisn.com/article/68-years-ago-milwaukee-was-epicenter-of-earthquake/6031479

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1947_Wisconsin_earthquake

"It was the largest tremor to be historically documented in Wisconsin, but it was not recorded by seismographs."

https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/07/20/the-really-big-one

“Our operating assumption is that everything west of Interstate 5 will be toast.”

"In the Pacific Northwest, the area of impact will cover* some hundred and forty thousand square miles, including Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, Eugene, Salem (the capital city of Oregon), Olympia (the capital of Washington), and some seven million people. When the next full-margin rupture happens, that region will suffer the worst natural disaster in the history of North America."

"we now know that the Pacific Northwest has experienced forty-one subduction-zone earthquakes in the past ten thousand years. If you divide ten thousand by forty-one, you get two hundred and forty-three, which is Cascadia’s recurrence interval: the average amount of time that elapses between earthquakes. That timespan is dangerous both because it is too long—long enough for us to unwittingly build an entire civilization on top of our continent’s worst fault line—and because it is not long enough. Counting from the earthquake of 1700, we are now three hundred and fifteen years into a two-hundred-and-forty-three-year cycle."
