That would be a crossover, but I think he could make Scoop Takes

2019 G Paul Mulcahy will announce tomorrow at 7.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Finally some common ground! I think we can all agree that Johnson will be making his decision for his own reasons ......not because " some dudes on a Marquette message board" said one thing or another.

So you know he isn't going to Wisconsin but you're pissed that guys on an MU board confirmed what you already know or suspect? 😂

Score! As usual, Mark.

Couple things boys.  I agree with those that politely asked some of you to take your HE recruitment argument and your Badger troll discussion elsewhere.  This thread remains informative when we all don't have to wade through multiple pages of useless chatter.  I know for the most part that things may be a little quiet on the recruiting front for a little while until '19 really heats up but let's please respect the work people bring to this for the benefit of all.

So what's the story on Paul Mulchay?

We offered him a while back, and the addition of Killings seemed like it might help. Seems like Rutgers is the choice. If it's not them, maybe Northwestern or Seton Hall. I'd be shocked if he picked Marquette at this point.

Pretty good article on Mulcahy, a 6-6 G/F, with several quotes from Jay Gomes of NJHoops.com. Says a lot of good things about his game, especially his passing ability, but closes with:

"His defense is not awful. He's going to have trouble with some smaller, quicker guards but everybody does."

Yeesh. Not awful? After the past two seasons, reading that makes me recoil like a vampire facing a crucifix.

https://www.app.com/story/sports/college/2018/05/15/paul-mulcahy-rutgers-basketball-gill-st-bernards/612359002/

He's also being recruited by Virginia Tech.

Totally get what you're saying.  My gut is that we haven't been active for awhile.  But we'll see and best of luck to the young man whichever way it goes.

Mulcahy to Rutgers as expected. Think we jumped in on that one a little too late in the game to even have a shot. Looks like Rutgers has been recruiting him for years

https://247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/2019-wing-Jalen-Wilson-recaps-Michigan-visit-talks-decision-timeline-118229134

VIP article on Jalen Wilson's recent unofficial to Michigan. Stuff on the visit is pretty generic: "Love the school" "strong academics" "want me to come in and be a scorer and a leader" "Arena is huge must be crazy when sold out" (If he thinks that arena is big...)

Towards there end there is an interesting quote:

Next up for Wilson is setting up more visits with the schools he's strongly considering.

"Really just Kansas, Marquette, Baylor and Oklahoma State," he said when asked about future visits. "Those are the schools on my top list."

Despite jumping into his recruiting process more, Wilson said he's tracking for a fall college decision.

"Sometime before my school year, my senior year and the basketball year starts," Wilson said.

So it seems like UCLA is already out of the running. We made the official visit list. Also sounds like he will commit before the early signing period.

Kansas and Michigan (and Baylor and Oklahoma State to a lesser extent) are really stiff competition. We were there first and Stan is the man. Hope we can pull this one off

Brian Snow 247 had an article on Indiana recruiting targets. Carton was mentioned. Basically said it's Michigan, IU and OSU for him. Didn't  think Marquette or. Xavier was going to be a serious contender in the end. He did say that it could change if he decides to visit either of them......fwiw

Could be. Smells like B1G bias to me. Though I have heard Carton is a football fan. Could be a selling point for him that we don't have. I would be very surprised if we didn't get a visit.

With the Kansas/UCLA Adidas tie, it looks similar to a story about Langford that came out yesterday (https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/colleges/before-romeo-langford-chose-indiana-adidas-made-sure-he-stayed-under-its-tent/2018/05/16/2c77d384-539e-11e8-a551-5b648abe29ef_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.eea6bac96f4a)

Carton now #23...which I'm pretty sure is where Jalen Brunson finished in the 247 composite. That sounds right somehow.

On Nobal Days, heard he's been falling off for a while now. Not surprised by the ranking. Even Bucky is backing off.

Has always been over done. Watching in Vegas a couple years ago, teammate Marcus Domask was far ahead of him.

The physical tools and potential are there, but like a Kostas (just not as severe & Days is a better defender), you can see it's at least a number of years away.

Still a chance for him, but time keeps moving.
