Hell, Wojo should have been the father.

The Scott Skiles approach?

Could just add Scottie Pippen as an assistant coach.

take it as you will, but currently Carton isnt set to visit.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Not looking good for Carton.  I am still optimistic for Watts given the friendships with Elliott & Cain.

Well, hopefully the staff has a good pulse on Rocket Watts and Nico Mannion (who seems more likely to grad early given his recent comments). With the latter, hopefully we can point to M2N's experiences and leverage the Mannion/Bailey relationship.  Interesting to see who they go after for a SF/PF/C at this point and if there is a hope for more of a grad transfer.

Recruiting at this level is very challenging,  you lose more often than you want.  Signing the 2 transfers this year must have been very gratifying
to the coaches.  I think getting the kids to the finished WEC will be important moving forward, see a good game with live people in the place will
help.  If MU signs 1 kid this year would be fine and maybe get a grad transfer big in spring as you lose Matt.  There is not alot of playing time at
the 3 and 4 for a few years.  Watt might be the answer.

Agree with all this.  And a massive addition that is beng left out is with guys like DJ and Wilson is MU was frankly an NIT team.  Bottom line is if MU went deep in the tourney or to the title game I Like MUs chances over MIchigans.  A vision only goes so far, great players want to play on great teams.  I think its clear wojo n stan are excellent recruiters based on the fact that we have a ton of highly coveted talent.  The only missing ingredient to the even higher lever recruits is Ws.
Wojo will ultimately succeed or fail based on the Win column.

As an addendum,  i see much lamenting about the possible fall off of the BIg east this year. Personally, i hope there is a massive fall off.  Would love to have MU have a very nice record and a lot of Ws.  Worries about sos drop or conference perceptions are incredibly overblown.  All top conferences have some turnover.  Wojo and mu fans want big time recruits and needs Ws to get them, if our opponents tetting weaker facilitates that than i am 100% for it.  The hand wringing and angst about all else is wasted energy.

New DJ Carton interview from Jerry Meyer
https://247sports.com/Article/Indiana-Iowa-Marquette-Michigan-Ohio-State-and-Xavier-in-mix-for-DJ-Carton-118690579

Main takeaway is here:
"He has already visited all of the schools on his list except for Xavier. Before he makes a decision, he plans to visit the other five schools again and also visit Xavier. It is yet to be determined which of these visits will be official and which visits will be unofficial."

Also:
Marquette - "I have a great relationship with Coach Wojo and like what he did with the guards last year. They have a bright future."

Looks like everyone is interviewing him...

https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/usa-basketball-six-remain-for-top-50-guard-dj-carton

Weird that the Evans goes out of his way to exclude us at the end. Not getting my hopes too high. We should have a high level PG for the next 3 years between JC and KM. I don't forsee getting any top 50 level PGs until 20 or more likely 21 if McEwen stays for 3 years.

FYI, McEwen has 2 years of eligibility, not 3. I agree that it could be tough to recruit at the 1 with good talent already lined up, but I expect Wojo will have a solid PG replacement by his senior year.

Yes but he will be around for 3 years and we have JC next season.

Probably nothing, but could potentially be something since they're also after Carton, Watts, and just got a verbal from Jalen Wilson

I wonder if Evans just made a typo. Seems strange to mention everyone(including Xavier) but not MU....especially when DJ  says repeatedly that MU has been there the longest and that he has a great relationship with Wojo.

This is an interesting twist

I don't think that's nothing. Players often commit to coaches not programs. Could help us with Carton,  Watts,  and even open up Wilson.

Of course he actually has to get the job
