Those are just their first schools.

Ha, true, though you would think Illinois would have a few big names that would end up at a much higher level. Must still be a market for one and dones.

Adrien.

Getting ahead of this one early because it's gonna drive me nuts for 4 years.

He's not enrolled yet so you get a pass for now, but Adrien, not Adrian.

It's a simple numbers game.  Only 2 PG on next year's roster: Sean and Nigel. Both will play.

Wing has many options: Chase, Zaide, Tre, Damarius, Adrien, Michael, Ian.  The pecking order after Chase and Zaide isn't as clear.

At least everyone knows our coach's name is spelled Shacka.

Slinger (#1 in Div 2) and Freedom (#2 in Div 3) both have a great chance to make it to State.  That would give me a chance to see more of Jack Kohnen and Donovan Davis. So far, I've just seen the highlight clips posted online.

Until then, I will refrain offering my opinion. But I know Davis is Wisconsin's #1 priority in 2027 and Kohnen has an Iowa State offer.

Dooney Johnson and Milwaukee Juneau are in Div 4. They are a bit of a wildcard, since they play mostly bigger schools and therefore they don't have a gaudy record like some of the Div 4 schools. Might be a sleeper team to win it all.

Correct. Tre and Chase can do it as well.

Stevens played PG for his AAU team and plays it full time for his HS team.  He could steal some PG minutes against teams with bigger guards.

In a couple of years. Say, 2027.  Stevie played PG on HS,too.

I think Adrien Stevens has long-term potential to be a combo guard, but as a freshman I don't think he'll be in the PG mix.

Tre Norman, I don't see any PG traits.

Chase Ross and Damarius Owens are wings who might initiate the offense from time to time, but that doesn't make them PGs.

HutchwasClutch

It's incredible some actually still hold out any hope for Tre.

Lots of players play PG in HS, but aren't PG in college. Wes Matthews as a HS junior played PG, senior year he was played SG. Not a PG in college.

Stevie Mitchell and Kon Knueppel played PG in HS. Neither are college PGs.

So, even though Stevens plays PG in HS, I don't project him as a PG in college. At least until he proves otherwise.

Chase Ross told me he played point guard in high school.

I don't think this staff cares about that definition of PG. They consider Tre, DO, Chase, and Adrien to all be players capable of running the point.  Nigel won't get meaningful minutes unless he's one of the top 10 players.

Shaka has used Owens at PG for quite a few stretches, including when Ross and/or Stevie have been on the court. Owens looks comfortable with the ball, albeit a little cautious (which is understandable), and I think Shaka really wants Owens to be a legit option for PG minutes.

In general, though, I agree with TAMU and others that defining PG isn't all that important ... although Shaka has had a very-much-guy-defined-as-PG running his offense for his entire time at Marquette.

Most guards on the court can dribble up the court without pressure and initiate offense.  It will be interesting to see who can do it under ball pressure and make good decisions without turning it over.

We'll be fine at the point guard position. My Gawd scoopers can always find something to wet their pants over.

Not sure what the problem was with the bolded, but sure, it's me.

And yes, I trust that Shaka will have us in good shape at PG. As he has for 4 years.
