Interesting 35 min Adrien Stevens interview/pod - https://www.youtube.com/live/fFN7vYhx-Ak

That is one impressive teenager.  I hope he lands at Marquette.

Agreed. Someone else mentioned it, but he does remind me of Stevie in his mannerisms.

Has Steven's said when he will announce his decision?

His timeline has always indicated late August was the plan. He recently said he would commit before the start of school. My guess is he'll commit here before the month is out.

Insiders still have good vibes about Stevens?

Anyone know why 247's 2025 Class Ranking for Marquette doesn't add any points for Miletic? They've got him ranked pretty highly -- actually not too far below James -- but the class ranking doesn't factor any any points for him. Same is true with Phillips, but I assume that is because he reclassified. Butler's 2025 class is getting 20+ points for a guy ranked 10 spots below Miletic and 9+ points for guy 30 spots below him. Marquette's top 20 ranking seems to be solely on James. Adding some points for Miletic and Phillips would, presumably, move them up quite a bit.

And, if we can add Stevens to the mix -- and potentially Ward -- this could be a truly outstanding class.
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

It's because while 247 has him at #103, he isn't included in enough other outlets to have a composite score, which is what they use for class rankings. Michael Phillips also doesn't have a composite score, so he doesn't improve that class ranking either.

Thanks, Brew. If/when those two get a composite, it should give MU a nice boost. As would Stevens. And Ward.

It really does not matter, Shaka has shown that he knows talent.  All that does matter is Shaka got 3 players to the league, and none were probably in the Top 100!

Ok stand corrected not in the Top 90!

Kam was borderline too, 247 had him at 107, and he'll get drafted next year.

Shaka gets players that he feels will develop fit how he wants MU to play. I suspect Wojo got as many top recruits as Bo Ryan (or more) but the end results show that Ryan was the better recruiter.

I think people are still mixing up the cause and effect of basketball recruiting rankings.

I think Shaka has very much deserved the "he committed to ___ school so a ranking improvement is due" status by this point.

Probably more like a better coach......

No doubt about it, but part of the reason Ryan was a far better coach is that he had a clear vision of how he wanted his team to play and then he did a much better job landing players that fit that vision. Shaka knows how he wants to play and recruits accordingly. Rankings do not mean much, IMO.

All part of being a good CBB coach. CBB coaches are both HC and GM. The GM part is what you are referring to.

The flopping part is the excellent coaching.
