Marquette gets the green weenie from Pewaukee's Milan Momcilovic and don't make his Final-6.  Minnesota, UCLA, Michigan State, Louisville, Virginia and Iowa State do
So does Bucky.

Did we never pursue Momcilovic?  He's a local, he plays a position we need help at, and he's well-rated. I saw his final six, and we aren't in it.

Of course I've never seen him play, or even much film. Just seems like a kid like that, from so close to home, should be kind of a priority.

Does anybody know if we made overtures, or why he doesn't seem inetersted in MU?
I have no idea, but I find it interesting that UW is also not listed. Maybe, he just wants to get away from the State of Wisconsin.

Futher along with other 4s and 5s. Amadou, Booth, and Estrella.

I think defensively the guys MU is recruiting have more potential to guard a 5, while Milan might be more of a go to scorer that will just play the 4.  Some politics too, Phenom has some guys that just want to go elsewhere. Especially with their last few classes 2020-2023 guys.  Wisconsin didn't even both offering him. Both MU and UW opted to pretty much exclusively recruit the 2024 kids from that aau program.

Didn't fit the culture. Or didn't fit the system. Or Shaka likes the guys he already has.

And yet, Shaka offered him a scholarship.

Milan was offered long before Ben Gold committed.  There is a lot of overlapping skills with those two.  Royal, Estrella and Amadou have different, versatile skillsets and any of them would compliment the 2021 class better.

Not sure if you're joking or not, but lots of college kids DO want experiences away from home.

FWIW MU and UW already offered Momcilovic's Pewaukee teammate 2024 SG Nick Janowski:
