Rob Jeter was the perfect coach for UWM. That athletic director made a big mistake when she forced him out .

I think PBjr is projected in the first round in every mock draft so he is going pro.

Word on the street is the AD wanted TJO and the Chancelor overruled her.  TJO would have crushed it at UWM.  It would have been Bruce Pearl 2.0.

PBJ IS slated as #24 pick by Bleacher Report    Lewis is #40     Johnny Davis is #8    8-)

Johnny Davis would have been the number one pick in the draft had he concentrated on basketball only and gone to the g-league this year.  What a shame.

TJO would be the perfect coach at UWM.   He has junior college contacts and knows milwaukee and chicago highschools.  It might have taken a couple of years but they would have been in the top 3-4 schools in the Horizon.

I suspect he might be a lot happier at Iowa State.

He was out of UWM's league.

I'm sure you're joking.  This is when TJO was at South Dakota State.  It is my understanding that he essentially accepted the UWM offer from Amanda only to be told it was not his to take nor Amanda's to offer.

Nope.  My opinion of UWM is that low.

It's when he was an assistant coach at Iowa State.

I know the NBA drafts on potential, but I would think his draft stock took a hit.

It did. Before the season, he was projected as a sure lottery pick, maybe even 5-10 range. Now, he's fallen to the back of the first round in most mocks. That's still real coin, and if he's any good he'll get plenty of chances to prove himself.

Why? He's pretty much universally projected as a first round pick. Why on earth "should" he go back to college? I could understand taking the position that teams "should" not draft him (I'm not taking a position one way or another on that), but I can't understand why he "should" go back to college. If I win the lottery this weekend, "should" I cash in the ticket?

Perhaps I'm getting lost in the ambiguous pronouns, but this reads to me like you're confused about who would be bringing who along.

Marquette and many other schools have interest in one of the latest risers i have seen in a while Adou Thiero 2022 6'5" guard. Technically only has one offer from Duquesne but Marquette, Pittsburgh, Ohio St, and Indiana all look to recruit him.

This kid would be an excellent get.  I wonder if our PG depth might be a detriment, even though Skyy would immediately be PG1

Is Skyy a 1-and-done? If so ... passss.

Can't tell if that's sarcasm or not, but assuming he's a cultural fit, what's the difference between taking him and Morsell or Kuath or some other grad transfer?

It wasn't sarcasm.

Like Jay Wright, Shaka has talked about the allure of recruiting 1-and-dones but, ultimately, realizing that it's difficult to make them "cultural fits."

Morsell and Kuath were known quantities who had played 4 years of college basketball and who had past coaches and teammates who could speak for how they would fit. There's also a huge difference in maturity between 23-year-old grad students and 18-year-old kids who might not care about going to college at all.

I am NOT saying Shaka should never recruit a 1-and-done. I'm staying that at this stage of his culture-building process, it's probably not the best idea.

The problem will arise if he thinks he is a one-and-done.
