I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Could this be the least amount of chatter ever on a recruits commitment day? Someone has to be hearing something!
Bring back FFP!!!

Agreed.  Figured I'd look at scoop and have at least three pages to look at on this thread.

Credit to the Bond camp, I don't think anyone is hearing much of anything yet.

DoctorV

One of the most surprising angles of Shakas first crop of recruits imo was that they mostly came out of nowhere, very little chatter and a lot of surprises

He spent 2/3 weeks recruiting hard and got a handful of commitments that us lay folk heard nothing about until the university or the player announced.

As much as it sucked not knowing, I thought it was kind of refreshing and I'm hoping the same happens with Leon Bond

Has anyone seen Bond ball?

Handles?
Hops?
Touch?
Range?
Quicks?
Intangibles?

He's a high motor, Uber athletic, rangy forward type. His defense and rebounding will get him minutes right away. He could be a special player if he refines his offensive game. Decent outside shot but dominates the HS level with his athleticism.

Boone

Fwiw he recently followed UVA hoops and a couple other recruits

He also follows Marquette and a few on our current roster, but not the official Cincy hoops (at least one Instagram).

Boone

True. But IIRC he started following uva more recently so they may be trending

Hoping we land him, but I understand if he wants to go out and get new experiences in a different location. Besides, I'm done getting excited about high school recruits as the recruiting game has changed so much with transfers and what not.

I spent many hours following both the Ellenson and the Garcia recruitments and they only ended up playing one season each, so it's really not worth it. There's a chance Bond ends up playing for both MU and Virginia in his career anyways.

My thoughts also if its UVA today and he spends a lot of time on their bench. Even with the one year players and easy transfer rules, it would be great to get a local recruit and hopefully Chicago area ones in the near future. It may be exceptionally important for some players to have family and friends at all the home games.

Bond deleted all insta posts, looks like that's where he'll announce.

FWIW, Cincy 247 writer thinks its UVA.

The Shaka Smart era is off to a very uninspiring start.

Is it better to get or miss a recruit if you are his second choice?

But is it a green weenie?

CountryRoads

Shaka made Bond a top priority, but this is a case of having too much catch up to do. Virginia had been recruiting him for 2 years and they are a first class program.
