Great response to a strange reply.

Getting back to what triggered all of this: I believe recruits typically choose their school based primarily upon their relationship with a coach and how his talents match up with the system and team, not on how schools match up on the "recent past" of departed coaches. Now in UVA's case, "recent past" includes a natty and the coach is still there so that would certainly be a factor in Bond's decision if he chooses them.

I think this whole narrative of Marquette vs. Cincy that 4everdawson floated as a factor in Bond's recruitment is simply bogus.   

I guess that means that the Bitcoin deal I pitched is not happening.

I've been around a long time, Pak.  Recent has a different meaning to me than it does to young 'ens.

I'm honestly curious what recent means, because unless you're going back to Huggins, which was nearly 2 decades, I don't know what time period you could be talking about.

Cincy's been way better than Marquette in KenPom in recent history.

The 3 years from 2014-16 with Cronin? The 2 years from 2004-05 with Huggins? Those seem to be the only times where "way better" was true for any extended period. And Cincy is two coaches removed from Cronin, so hard to see what why the history from 6-15 years will be relevant in the Bond recruitment.

That's pretty wild. I watched St. Thomas upset #1 Wash U in the D-3 baseball National Semifinals last month.

We should know on Bond within the next 10 days (his statement) and 247's crystal ball is stuck at one prediction- for MU. Its from April and other offers have been added since then so I don't take it at full value but its better than nothing. Bond is keeping his cards close to his vest.

I believe that that crystal ball also predates the Virginia scholarship offer.  At least it hasn't changed.

Yeah...UVA was part of "other offers". Evan Flood standing firm for now with his MU prediction at least is a little encouraging. If he was going to flip to at least neutral I think he would already have done that.

With no other predictions, he's best sticking with it. CB ratings are a points system, and the earlier you make a prediction, the more points you get. So if he switches to hazy then back to Marquette, he loses points even if he gets the right pick at the end. I really think it's only worth changing if you know he's going somewhere else (say flip to Virginia) or you know he's not going where you predicted (hazy if you are sure it's UVA or Cincy but NOT Marquette).
