You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

The Big East

Updates to  247 composite which takes in all the recruiting raters.   Stevie Mitchell and Jonas Aidoo move up. Kameron still top 100 on 247 rating.

I don't put much stock in the ratings but they are fun to talk about .

Sweet!  What were some of the other Iowa State recruits rankings?

Sorry mods, if you need to switch this and the last post to the super bar I get it.  I just love Iowa St. recruiting info and couldn't help myself.

Woj didn't want him, hey?

I saw him last year at Dominican, did not shoot the ball well, but extremely athletic. By far, quicker than any guard at MU. I was there with Wojo and Presutti watching.  I would have offered on the spot. He is that quick. He commented at one time that MU was his dream school, so on saying that Stevie Mitchell has to be impressive to pass on Hunter.  There was one scooper who teaches at St. Cates, wonder what he heard?

Boone

Big miss IMHO. Then again, Wojo's defensive 'philosophy' woulda sucked the athleticism and instincts from the kid's game

Easy, Shooter.

Hunter is from Racine St Catherine. One of our posters teaches there and loved the kid and his game. Apparently the poster is a good scout as Tyrese keeps moving up the charts. According to our teacher/poster/scout, his dream school was MU. We recruited him and offered but allegedly Wojo liked Mitchell better. Iowa State or not, he'll always have an MU connection and be part of our story.

Please keep us posted on Tyrese's recruiting ranking and career, daily if you can.  None of us basketball fans would have ever known this unless you posted it on MU scoop.

Christopherson, McKay, Burton, next up looks like Hunter.  Tired of losing really good players to Ames, IA. 😬

The first three were Marquette players who transferred.  Hunter wasn't that.

He was offered a scholarship and decided on ISU.  Comparing these circumstances is odd at best.

Marquette recruited Hunter as hard as anyone in the class.

Tyrese became St Catherine's all time leading scorer last week.  Still bummed he didn't pick MU.

In a sign of the times though, I have only seen Tyrese ONCE since March, and that may have been the only time he was in the building.  Racine city ordinances don't allow games or practices within city limits so the team has been practicing and playing off campus.  I happened to run into him when he (and McGee, who I still think is going to blow up at UWGB) came to school for signing day.

But I also agree with the posters who say he's not relevant to MU recruiting anymore.

Exactly. The narrative that he ignored Hunter is dumb.

There's a reason we haven't had much interest from guys in the Playground program or Grassroots in Michigan....

It's obviously not the end of the world, but it's not a good sign we don't have a good relationship with aau programs from current/former players.

Recruiting priorities came into play sometimes.

MU was one of the early programs to offer Darlinstone Dubar. Then we got caught up with having to prioritize time on Dawson, Justin and Osa. We also were a finalist for RJ Davis and were spending  a huge amount of time on that recruitment. So a kid like Darlinstone did not see us so much, especially after Coach Nelson left, and ultimately Darlinstone committed to Iowa State which did make him a priority.

Darlinstone is doing very well at MU West averaging about 18 minutes a game. 3.5 points and 3.5 rebounds. He is the kind of switchable we need to be recruiting.
