There are always players available in the spring, but MU can't take 4 scholarships into spring, that's a lot. 2 I can see...but 4?? No way

Don't need to fill all 13.  Try to get 1 or 2 this fall and if it carries into the spring, so be it.

Is Ike's scholarship available to give out to a midseason transfer this season?  I know Gardiner took the other open one.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Yes.  We have one available right now.

Good luck to RJ at UNC.  Wish him well.

Other than Garcia and Mane, are there really any other 2020 targets we are still pursuing?  I believe Suggs is pretty much gone.  Looks like we will fill out the remaining spots with transfers (probably one grad transfer and one traditional transfer?).

I believe they are still trying to get JBF for a visit. I also believe they have made contact with Jalen Terry, but would probably benefit from him being a spring decision. Louisville, LSU, & Michigan have a significant legwork advantage that could be mitigated by a few months of time to make up ground.

UNC...

C'mon guys, he made his announcement right after he visited UNC. You had to have known at that point he was gone.

I'm sure he thought he could be a starter for a team that was feared the minute they walk in the gym. Who had a legitimate shot at a Final Four and beyond. That hasn't had any Hausershimas.

Who is JBF? Sorry, haven't followed recruiting that closely this summer.

How is the H situation in any way related to the recruitment of a 6' guard that only would have overlapped with one of them?

My guess it points to the overall culture and stability of the program. Whether that's true or not, I don't know. But I'm sure that's how it's being used by those recruiting against MU.

Ok so down to Garcia and Mane which would still make this a fantastic class people don't get down!

You may be right, but it seems like a pretty flimsy pitch considering the total number of transfers in today's game.  "You see that program with the All-American guard that is similar in build and play style to you, that will be graduating the semester before you potentially arrive on campus, leaving you with the keys to the team?  Well, they had two front court players transfer last year, and even though you only would have been in school at the same time as one of them, it proves that the program is unstable."

A lot can happen between now and next fall.

Jalen Suggs is still a long shot -- but still a possibility. Back in June, he said he wanted "to make a decision here soon" and that "early August is a good spot for me," with Gonzaga "definitely at the top." Yet August and then September came and went with no commitment. For whatever reason, it seems he hasn't 100% made up his mind.

Marquette also remains very much in the running for Dawson Garcia. Adding his commitment to Justin's and Oso's would give MU the most talented group of front court recruits in at least the past 20 years. We may have to wait until spring to learn his destination.

While Desmond Polk and Darlinstone Dubar don't seem to be recruiting priorities at the moment -- and don't have the star power of Davis or Hoggard -- either or both would add athleticism, length and depth to the roster.

Could another top recruiting target pop up? You never know. Maybe someone de-commits or the coaching staff finds a player who's been under the radar.

Beyond that, there's a good chance we land a traditional and/or grad transfer after this season. Katin Reinhardt, Andrew Rowsey and Ed Morrow stepped in as immediate impact players. Koby McEwen and Jayce Johnson look to do the same this season. Bringing in a more experienced player could actually be preferable with the departure of four seniors. We'll have to see.

I still think there is a chance we could see RJ in the future with all the players UNC has or is in the running for.

It seems that NC has 25-30 players on scholarship.

Yeah, because a couple transfers leaving is way worse than a program putting athletes in scam classes for more than a decade.

Look, I agree with you and others that it's hard for a recruit to pass on UNC or one of the other bluebloods, and I hated that Hausershima happened. But it certainly didn't appear to affect the decision of two other 4-star recruits, and I think it's a reach to think it affected this 4-star recruit one iota.

If the Hausers were a factor we wouldn't have been in his final 4..........He had plenty of great choices and took the blue blood. It isn't more complicated then that. By all accounts he had a great visit here......every school loses recruits that they want for various reasons........if you can't deal with that then you should really stop following college sports.

I feel like Sam and Joey transferring is going to be one of those things that will somehow be attributed to every recruiting miss or bad game for decades to come.  Like if only Chones hadn't left, the course of the program would have differed and we would have landed Davis.  No one can technically disprove that, but would anyone really believe it?

With how Wojo (and particularly Stan) have identified under-the-radar talent in recruiting - specifically guys that were low to unranked guys that shot up the boards later on, I am really confident in the staff's ability to get skilled players onto campus.  We won't win them all, but the more talent you can get to campus on visits, the more likely you will inevitably bring the skilled players to make up the team.

This one doesn't sting as much as Grimes did in 2017.  Ironically, Grimes ends up leaving Kansas and we weren't even considered before he chose Houston (although I believe that had more to do with him wanting to try and play immediately than his thoughts being recruited in HS).

Yeah agreed, unfortunately here Davis shot up too quickly and UNC waltzed in late. Timing is key for us on those kinds of guys

Welp, SJU will get a good one for the 22-23 season after he transfers to be closer to home after not starting his first 2 years

UNC is not Duke (aka transfer u) and despite what many on here think, Roy's best teams at both Kansas and UNC featured two guards and two bigs which was his goal for the 2020 class and he now has it. He can play at the pace he wants to now.
