My sources are telling me It will be Marquette.

He was waiting on our preseason KenPom rank I bet. Top 20 made him want to pull the trigger.

I mean it would be the biggest Hail mary ever, but Suggs still isn't committed...I'm not saying...I'm just saying :-\

You make it sound like MU hasn't been involved with him.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Not that it matters but RJ announcing tomm at 9am

Let's see - a number of recruiting gurus all pick Davis to UNC and right after Davis schedules his announcement, I wonder what that means?

Of course they were involved, but they haven't been in contact with him in forever(that we know of).

Given that loyalty and playing time were the two biggest factors according to Davis it's probably worth remembering that not only should we not listen to the CBB talking heads on recruiting decisions, we probably shouldn't listen to the recruits themselves.
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.

That being said, IF MU is ever going to take that next step, at some point you HAVE to win one of these recruiting battles(against the bluebloods), don't you?? Obviously you aren't going to win more than you lose, but every once in awhile..

You can build a very good(clean)program without going head to head with blue bloods for recruits.......Wisconsin did it.......Nova did it..... Virginia has done it.....Gonzaga did it......

It's the only way for the vast majority of schools......unless you cheat....like Auburn, LSU etc.....

Here we go again...I was specifically talking about for an out of state recruit.

Some good news: it looks like Vander was recruited to play in the TBT. (Not actual recruiting but I still like to see it)

IF you get the players to develop, yes you absolutely can. That being said at least some of them, have to develop by leaps and bounds to get to that level(see, Kaminsky, Frank, Hachiumura, Riu etc) some Coaches are better at player development then others.

Sorry, you didn't specify that.  It's not easy and something every program fights against.  It's especially tough when a blue blood comes in late

Well, the blue bloods enjoy it.

Replace Jerel with Vander and the TBT team remains absolutely stacked, especially at guard.

If reports seem to be true.....

RJ bought the "BS" about playing two "lead" or point guards at the same time.....

My opinion.....They will not......

My opinion......One of the two points.....RJ or Love??? will transfer by the end of their sophomore season.....

If you have listened to Roy long enough......You know the "art" of his "fluff" when you hear it.....

Good luck to RJ with his decision......Regardless if it is MU or not.....

Stepping into Markus's shoes can also be looked at as either a positive or negative......Because those are "big shoes"......First team All-American shoes.....

wadesworld

It doesn't seem like Roy has had all that many transfers. The numbers might prove me very wrong but I just can't think of a ton of guys who were good to great high school recruits going to UNC and transferring out.

Also, UNC isn't quite like Duke or Kentucky. They'll bring in 1-2 5 star guys a year, but they seem to target many more of the players that are ranked around where RJ is and have a bit more patience with them.

jesmu84

So much for that loyalty preference, eh?

I don't blame the kid one bit though.

MU82

Maybe Roy promised RJ that he can get top grades by not attending make-believe classes.
