How could any 5-star basketball player choose Duke over Marquette or Wisconsin?

I mean, you'd think Duke produces numerous first-round draft picks every year or something.

Once you've shown them your interest and they've shown you their lack of interest? Yes.

I think it is essential to have a consistent  recruiting dialogue with the best local players every year. If they are can't miss kids who are going blue blood, at least there is a relationship in place, so if something happens bad at the blue blood and they have to come home with tail between legs, they can always come back to MU. Also consistency of effort keeps us in the game for the next level of players who will actually come to MU the first go round. So hopefully in this Jalen Johnson case, we can end up with  Jamari Sibley.

What...Wojo lost somebody to Duke?
That's OK. He has bigger  fish to fry. He will be bringing in major study soon.

This is a good point, Herman.  The whole "coming home" thing happened with Jamil Wilson and Luke Fischer.

Your constant negativity is insufferable. The fact that you get a rise out of MU falling short is all I need to know.

Should wojo have taken the same attitude with Henry and Joey? Or just on the ones that eventually committed to the blue bloods?

Just the ones who showed no interest in coming to Marquette.

I really don't think Duke "produces" much NBA product.  It's a one year rental.

Marginally at best. And no better than they would be at most places.
