At least you're consistent, my friend!

I might run up to St. Cloud, MN tomorrow to see Milwaukee Washington (Foster, Long) and Park Center (Dain Dainja), among others. Big tourney - Granite City Classic.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Let us know if you see Wojo and co!
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Nicely done.

Can't lose someone you never went after - I'm still with (45 years later) the only one I ever offered. Lucky me.

Old target Bruno Fernando looked awfully good for the Terps tonight.

So you're dating Sharon at school and Bob is dating her at home. At her graduation you both show up with a ring. She accepts his and says no to you. Your reaction would really be "No big deal, can't lose what you never had"? Don't think so.

Speaking of not losing what you never had.... Tyrese Haliburton, seems like would have been a very getable prospect from Oshkosh North.
Can't really even find much about us even kicking the tires. Happy we have McEwen in the fold to run the point these next two years, but seems like we missed out on an easy one there. Already showing up in draft sites as a potential one and done (Stepian, SI).

So you're one of 20 boys who has been dating Sharon. She accepts somebody's marriage proposal. Your reaction would be, "Damn, I had her. My loss is so profound!"?

Late bloomer.  Had a couple of Horizon and MAC offers until he took off in the summer of 2017.

I don't think we had any openings either.  The class of Joey and Brendan was already set and the Haanif and Harry departures had yet to occur.  (Which opened up spots for the JC and Koby transfers.)

Yep. Recruiting is pretty much like the Bachelorette.

Correct.

Wisconsin fans are also lamenting that they never went after Haliburton after Herro flipped to Kentucky.

That would have required them to recruit a kid who verbally committed elsewhere.  Isn't that against one of their unwritten rules?

The thinking is Gard should have had a better feel that Herro would decommit and Hauser would choose MU.  Gard needed to get his foot in the door before the verbal to ISU.

By that logic, Lenny, I have actually lost billions of dollars in lottery winnings because I didn't win.

No, that rule only applies when they have secured a verbal commit, not when pursuing someone else's verbal commit.

C'mon, Mike. If you're one of 20, it's not the same as being a "finalist". If you don't see being eliminated a year out along with 20 others as different from being essentially left at the altar (think Mannion and Grimes) I don't know what to say. I'll guarantee you that Wojo and Stan felt those losses profoundly. Why shouldn't we? Doesn't mean you don't pick yourself up, carry on, etc. - but it's not a "no big deal, no loss" feeling for coaches or fans - and it shouldn't be.

Tower - anyone who views winning the lottery as a type of competition will not just lose in that endeavor but also in the game of life. Nobody (with a brain) pours their heart and soul into winning the lottery. It's total chance and the odds against you are more than 300,000,000 to 1.

Winning (or losing) the girl of your dreams against another suitor, a prized recruit against another school or a game against another team are not (logically) remotely the same thing as winning (or "losing") the lottery.
