I haven't seen any Big Daddy-dates since Quentin Grimes.  He seemed pretty down after that whole ordeal, and I still don't think he's shared what exactly went down on that visit.  Hope he's been doing well but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE GIVE US SOMETHING, BD.

Earl Tatum

I'm not a Badger fan, but, Davison can play me any time. A hard
nosed bb player like Wojo.  Knows the game. Still like Greg and Jamal.
Flops or not, smart BB player. Refs call it, then do it.

I wouldn't put any stock in crystal bowels or who 247 lists as "warm" at the moment. Us and Georgetown are up there because we are the only ones who came full staff and UNC only got bowel picks because they are the only blue blood involved at this point. For all anyone knows, Hagans hated both Wojo and Ewing's pitches and wasn't happy to see UNC in the stands. Probably not what happened, but its likely too early for anything definitive

We can all discuss the recruitment of a player, but the first step after any team makes contact, is getting the kid to campus to see what is going on.  If he can come
this weekend, you have something.  Or before the signing date, then you have a chance to see if he gets along with the other players on campus.  Since most of the
players are on campus other than Bailey, he can see the potential the team will have next year.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

After doing some more research, it appears UNC was at last night's game to watch Wheeler's EJ Montgomery, a 5 star 6-10 PF in 2018.  Whether they get involved with Hagans remains to be seen.

He's still playing his high school season, though, right? As much as I'd love to see him here this weekend, you'd think any out of state travel while he's in the high school playoffs would be pretty unlikely.

I like the chances of him ending up at North Carolina.

And UNC would love to have a top 10 prospect like Hagans whether 2018 or 2019.

This is a gut feeling, tea leaves type pick. I did have Georgia, and I certainly don't think he ends up there. UNC makes the most sense to change pick from Georgia.

As for 2018 or 2019, Hagans is working to be 2018. Work in progress but that is the intent.

Jerry Meyer then posted this on Carolina Blue:

Georgetown, Marquette, N.C. State and North Carolina were all in the crowd last night for Ashton Hagans, who just decommitted from Georgia.

Georgetown and Marquette offered on the spot after watching Hagans go for 31 points. Both schools had their entire staffs on hand.

A powerful 6-4 point guard for Covington (Ga.) Newton High School, Hagans is ranked No. 8 in the 247Sports Composite.

He is a tremendous defender, penetrator and distributor.

If his other skills are elite (defense, ball handling, passing) I'll take my chances on a highly athletic PG with a coaching staff who has shown the ability to develop shooters.

Former top 30. I could see him appearing somewhere in the middle of Wojo's power point on a slide titled "5 star UNC players who didn't play freshman year"

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Building on this point, I found this interesting bit of knowledge. Who is the last guard coached by Roy Williams to go one and done?

Answer?

Trick question, it's never happened. In a 30 year career at two blue bloods Roy Williams has never had a guard go one and done. Now, he absolutely develops his guards and turns them into NBA players. And you get to play for championships at UNC (and go to fake classes!). So he brings a ton to the table but does not have a history of getting freshmen guards into the NBA.

I don't know Hagans, and I don't know what he's thinking about his future, but I assume the reclassification means he's looking to play right away and get to the NBA as soon as possible. If that's true, I'm sure Wojo will point out that historically UNC might not be the best place to go if you're looking to get to the NBA right away.
