That Tyger Campbell kid committed to UCLA.

Any IHOPs in Westwood?

Paul Mulcahy, a class of 2019 guard from Gill St. Bernard's (NJ), has picked up an offer from Marquette.

Making use of the road trip I see. He's a 6"5 three star. He's listed on recruiting services as a SF but plays PG for his high school. More of a driver and distributor than a shooter. Second tier Northeastern schools like BC, Rutgers, and Rhode Island seem to making him the biggest priority but he does list offers from Villanova, Xavier, Seton Hall, Maryland, and us. I can already tell he will be hated by opponents of wherever he goes. He checks a lot of the "Macura boxes", white, guard, big hair, doesn't look athletic but is, and plays with some cockiness.

PG is definitely the top priority for the 2019 class with offers out to Rocket Watts, DJ Carton, Mario McKinney, James Bishop, Tyrese Maxey, and now Mulchacy.

X also has offered him as well.

He's one of the best prep prospects I've seen in Jersey this season. Would be surprised if Wojo can land him.

Sign him if he is like Father Mulcahey of the 4077th.

DJ Carton in an Iowa blog interview:

"They've been talking to me a lot lately. (Head) coach (Steve) Wojciechowski stresses how much they need a point guard, so he really likes my game. Knowing him from being a smart point guard at Duke, just knowing him and having him be a mentor of my game. He's taught me some stuff about the game and he hasn't even been my coach. So just the environment over at Marquette, it's a basketball school. It's just awesome. I've been there two or three times. Me and them have a really good relationship, and they already picked up Joey Hauser, so they're building something in the future there. Definitely going to get back over there and see how they're doing."
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Dang, that's one of the more ringing endorsements Ive ever read in one is these recruiting interviews. He's my number one want for the 2019 class.

I know Joey played with an Iowa based AAU team. Do the two know each other well?

FWIW, very timid in EYBL play. 8% usage, 7% shots... playing up, but still. Questions will be answered early performance in EYBL

Did better at Oladipo

Haven't seen enough. Will try to view QC Elite in April though, assuming he's still with them.

I've added Fr. Mulcahy.  Any other clean-up guys?  Anything at all with anybody in '18?

Joey Hauser enrolled.  Not seeing anything else for 2018.  Wojo waiting for the grad transfers and coaching carousel dominoes to drop.

Can anyone tell me anything about Buddy Jaffers?

I don't know a Buddy Jaffers. But Buddy Jaffee will be a preferred walk on for Marquette for the 2018-2019 season. Essentially this means that he will walk on but will earn a scholarship if one happens to be available (aka we don't use our currently available schollie). He's 6"1 and didn't play PG for his high school team. Probably better than Marotta and Lelito but wouldn't count on him getting into many games. Marquette Wire did a profile on him back in October if you are curious: https://marquettewire.org/3978667/sports/buddy-gets-buckets-future-walk-on-uses-persistence-to-earn-spot-on-team/

Glow and I met Buddy's parents on NMD.  Great folks.  He wound up at Marquette partly because  told Buddy that studies come first, and that he wouldn't be going to any second-rate school just because they gave him a scholarship.  Apparently he is a great student, and a couple of the Ivies gave him a serious look.

Buddy's dad couldn't speak highly enough about how great the team treated him during his tryout.
Have some patience, FFS.

That's fine and dandy, but will he play with the flu?   :o :o :o
