If our student section was worth a damn, they would embrace Shaka's "Be a Domino" mantra and pretend to knock each other down in a snaking pattern to distract opposing free throw shooters.

It's really sh!tty.

I can't believe that crap.

At least the Crystal Bowel was right about our first 2024 recruit.

Be sure to ask the doc, after the colonoscopy is completed, to write a note for your wife assuring her that your head is NOT up there.

Not great news for Xavier:

@JonRothstein
Xavier's Kam Craft is expected to miss 3-4 weeks due to a knee injury, per a school spokesman. Desmond Claude (non COVID illness) is OUT for tonight's game against Marquette and did not travel to Milwaukee.

Not having Claude doesn't help.  He's playing 20 minutes per game, but isn't super effective in those minutes.  If Boum is hampered by the ankle then it becomes a problem, but it could cause their better players to just play more minutes.

Hope Sean and Stevie make Boum's life miserable tonight.

Craft was playing 7 minutes per game on the season.  His absence doesn't do anything for them.

Claude is one of their better perimiter defenders and adds length to disrupt.

Hes absolutely a big loss when they already dont have Freemantle.

The betting guys on field of 68 do too.

COnsidering when they filmed their show they thought Claude was available and mentioned that Boum being limited wouldnt be the worst thing. Because Hunter and Claude guarding the perimiter is X's best defense.

We'll see.  Yes, if Boum is hobbled it's a big deal no doubt.  But if he's not, having no bench isn't a big deal for an entire season, let alone a single game.

I'm interested to see what we do defensively with Xavier.  I believe the first game we had Oso on Freemantle.  Obviously with no Freemantle that'll free up Oso to guard Nunge.  What's interesting is that Creighton had a ton of success mucking it up by putting Kalk on Hunter, who is a total non threat from outside or mid range, and just ignored Hunter offensively and had Kalk playing a 1 man zone at the rim.  I wonder if there's a chance we keep OMax on Nunge so he can guard on the perimeter and let Oso protect the rim while guarding Hunter.  Either way, not letting up second chance points will be the deciding factor in this one.

Of note, I think Creighton will do the same with Oso next week.

One of my favorite Wojo moments happened during the Covid years and I think all of us went crazy when Lewis made the last second tip against the Badgers. It is moments like that which make me love being on scoop. I pictured scoopers ranging 50 years in age all going crazy at home. Another great moment was the 5 point comeback at Creighton in the last two seconds. Great scoop moments.

Claude is much better than Tandy who will be the guy getting most of his minutes.  He's a big loss when they're already thin.

I think we may see oso on hunter and omax on Nunge

Marquette is the only team in the Big East without back to back losses.

This is the obvious stretch where that could change.  Need a bounceback in the 2nd half to keep that alive!

....or beat Creighton on Tuesday!

We're down 4 at halftime and this dude's already celebrating a losing streak.

I noted that we are the only team in the Big East that hasn't lost back to back games this year.  You don't think that's a good thing?

Idk what that means, but all I said is they need to pick it up in the 2nd half or not lose to Creighton.
